Thanks......i didn't think that '173' had been commissioned in the middle of July..........some sources such as 'Janes' were basically guessing.
It also proves that China is still reporting news on the commissioning of its Naval vessels, despite recent comments to the contrary.
It does.........its just that some people think as soon as the pennant number is painted on a ship, it must be active.........but as we have found out with other vessels such as the last 2 052C's, a vessel can be completed for quite a while, before it gets inducted into the fleet.

Is it reasonable to expect 174 to enter service in December 2015?

China Commissioned the 2nd Type 052D Destroyer Changsha (173) with PLAN South Sea Fleet

According to the official journal of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) the Type 052D (NATO reporting name Luyang III class) destroyer Yangsha (hull number 173), was just commissioned on Agust 12 with China's South Sea Fleet. The vessel is now homeported at Yulin Naval Base located in the Yalong Bay (city of Sanya) on Hainan island.

So D3 is doing sea trial near Sanya Navy base. I think it will be commissioned very soon.

There were a couple of other photos of the 052D's at JN.
There is another 052D to the far left.
I presume these are the 5th, 6th and 7th 053D's at JN!..............am i correct? With the 052D on the far left being the 7th, which was launched not to long ago?

Actually, if we scan all three photos, there appears to be three LCACs and two subs in addition to the Ds and CG vessels, one of the sub's conning tower is still in primer red behind a tug. A very active shipyard indeed.
