The last few hulls may not have been settled in regards to who's producing them, so maybe previous rumours of DL producing 4 are untrue...

Or maybe there will be more than 12 052Ds in total (i.e.: DL will still produce at least 4, JN still produces at least 8)...

Or maybe, just maybe, the modules that we see in that picture is for 055 (can't really tell based on the beam of the module)

But then again, the module outside we see may just be for JN's 8th 052D, after all I don't think JN's 7th 052D has been launched yet. I think this is the most likely answer.

In any case, we need some good pictures of JN's two building halls. We haven't had any pics of them in a while now, and I'm sure we'd all be interested in how far JN's 7th 052D is along in building hall 1... and also what is happening in building hall 2.

edit: I'm not sure if by "JN D9" asif means it is JN's 9th 052D, or 9th 052D out of JN and DL combined. If he means it is the 9th 052D overall (AKA JN's 8th 052D), then I agree.

The reason I say the modules for the 9th from JNCX is because the production there seems to be streamlined, if I remember correctly when they had the 6th Type 052D in the hallway ready to launch the 7th one was taking good shape behind the 6th ready to be moved forward after the 6th was launched

So in this case the 7th is due for launch soon and that means the 8th is in place behind it, if new modules are showing up that would suggest a 9th DDG rather than the 8th

Will they only build 8 DDG from JNCX and 4 from Dalian? It's hard to say they will stop at 12 units this production is a strong one and Type 052D is a top tier DDG Chian can certainly do with these units

I don't remember them having the 7th directly behind the 6th... I'm not sure if there's enough length in there to accommodate a significant number of modules in addition to a full length warship. Even if JN's 8th 052D is being constructed behind their 7th 052D, the module you posted could simply be a module for the 8th 052D that has yet to be moved to the building hall (possibly to wait for more space after 052D 7 has been launched)

So I think it is most prudent for us to assume that the pic you posted is of JN's 8th 052D. At this stage we don't know when JN's 7th 052D will be launched and it may well be a little while away, meaning we would expect their 8th 052D's modules to show up

Looking at the construction times, it is noted that 'JN' shipyard has been launching the '052D's' at a pretty fast pace.
There was a 5 month gap between the launching of the 4th and 5th vessels, and only a 4 month gap between the 5th and 6th vessels.
The 6th vessel was launched at the end of last year on the 30th Dec 2014.
So, you could say that the 7th 052D, is due for launching.....very soon.

Regarding whether the modules at 'JN', are for the 8th or 9th 052D, well some people at other forums think they are for the 9th vessel................and as has been pointed out, there was a picture posted a few months ago, showing the stern of an 052D, sticking out at the back of a construction hallway, and people were speculating that this was the 8th 052D, which was behind the 7th vessel.

But, i'am not so sure, this is the case, maybe in the photo the stern module of the 7th 052D hadnt been moved forward in the hallway at that time...........we should find out the true facts soon though!
