Of course I know you're quoting. It doesn't change the fact that more people are recognizing that the 7,500 ton number is a fabrication of netizens who assumed greater displacement just because D comes after C.

by the way about one month ago one of my Facebook Friends (involved in some pre-WW2 Czechoslovak bunker I visit pretty often, but otherwise I don't know him) asked me like hey, what are those ships on your Profile supposed to mean?

Recent images from Hong Kong actually give credence to the 052D displacement > 052C displacement theory.

Now we don't actually know if there is a correlation between where they end the red paint and the vessel's displacement, but it is fuel for debate.

This is a possibility, though we don't actually know the full displacement figure for the 052C either.

The 7000 ton is just the number given on the blog of Henri K. a known PLA observer. As far as I know he is doing this as a hobby rather than a job. The 7000 ton number comes from his blog. Maybe he knows something that we don't or maybe its just a typo on his part.
