Based on 7500tons, that comes to 3.8 Billion RMB (approx $550-$600million USD)

===
I suspect that it doesn't include sensors and weapons, as the smaller and lower specification Type-54A comes in at around $350million.

Then you see Japan buying an AEGIS+Weapons set for $750million and older S-300 sets being sold to Vietnam for $150million.

I think the 350 mil figure for 54a came from an amateur's ass

Nope. I see that $350million figure as being credible.

And it matches the snippets we hear semi-officially from China and from the export proposals.

Pretty sure the figure came from a hedge fund dude

That doesn't mean it isn't broadly accurate.

If you have a look at the line item cost breakdown, it looks like a reasonable estimate.

Plus it does tally with the reported bid of $1billion for 3 frigates for the Thai navy.

The 300+ million for 054A comes from what they were asking for in the export contracts. It probably includes everything on the exported version including whatever cost of development they plan to do. A long time ago, it was said that China paid the shipyards 1.58 billion RMB for each 054A, but that probably doesn't include all the weapon cost. Either way, PLAN would get it cheaper than export costs.

I don't think 500 to 600 million is too much for each 052D especially since they are in mass production now.

A screengrab from the video of the recent exercise, of a CIC that seems to be of an 052D.

Dark CIC, during actual operations/exercise instead of all bright for reporters.
Note the extra officers from Navy but also Army in different uniforms, observing the exercise here.

3 X Type 052D spotted at DL

Yes... but we've had a picture to confirm that back in mid-late May; DL D1 of course was launched last year and is being fitted out, DL D2 is under construction on a slipway and looks like it may be launched later this year or early next year, and DL D3 is under construction on an adjacent slipway and is at an earlier stage of construction than DL D2 so will probably be launched mid to late next year...
