Okay, I see now. The small boxes directly below the bridge windows on each side?

In that case I believe those may be a Type 923-1 (RW-23-1) “Jug Pair” ESM system the Chinese employ which is very similar to the Russian Nakat-M “Watch Dog." But it may also be a newer system.

Now the two 052B are rattached to 2th DDG Flotilla homeported to Zhanjiang, before 6th to Yulin/Yalong Bay yet replaced there by one 052D and soon a second.

驱逐舰第2支队 驻广东湛江麻斜，五驱四护。
052B型驱逐舰2艘：168广州（2004）、169武汉（2004）。
051B型驱逐舰1艘：167深圳（1999）。
051型驱逐舰2艘：166珠海（1991）、165湛江（1989）。
054A型护卫舰4艘：569玉林（2010）、571运城（2010）、568衡阳（2008）、570黄山（2008）。

Looks like 167 is under going a pretty extensive refit

They are obviously happy with these even although Type 052C/D are in strong build

It's safe to expect the DDG 167 will receive the same kind of refit as with the DDG 112 and 113; the superstructure between the bridge and "A" gun position didn't get stripped would mean there's no VLS for this one as well; interesting bit is that this one have the smoke stacks removed as well, could it be the propulsion system get modified, even standardized with the rest of the newer ships in the fleet that using gas turbine system?
