More pics of Vietnam employing same tactics with their "fishermen". No way are those "fishermen" by chance happen to sail into the same spot as the rig, especially attaching a tow line to the rig.

in which foreign military personnel in their flashy uniforms and wielding advanced weapons is doing bad things to Chinese civilians in their shorts and t-shirts
I think that since they murdered South Korean CG member most of the countries start their controls of those fishing boats with their guns pointed at crew's heads from the start. They aren't innocent.

I honestly don't see how acknowledging the presence of the militia will help the US or anyone involved in disputes with China. No matter who these militia members are, they won't be wearing uniforms in a mission. They use normal fishing boats.

In a potential incident, you can shout until you lose your voice about these militia, but all China has to do is to show a photo, in which foreign military personnel in their flashy uniforms and wielding advanced weapons is doing bad things to Chinese civilians in their shorts and t-shirts and wielding wooden boat petals. Any complaint at that point becomes pointless.

Maybe that's why the Obama administration simply didn't bother doing anything about it. It's useless. This is the home court advantages that China enjoys when playing in its own backyard.

They don't "use fishing boats"

They are normally fisherman with fishing boats, but they are also a militia.

That is a big difference versus Russia's little green men who are professional soldiers by occupation.

You need to read my post more carefully. I didn't say they were innocent. That's why I specifically mentioned that in a photo or a video clip, they would "look" more innocent in any incident because they dress as civilian, in stark comparison to professional soldiers armed to the teeth.

If China uses its Little Blue Boats in the same manner as Russian Little Green Men to displace, destabilize, or wage undeclared maritime conflicts against its neighbors, then the "professional" Russian force is no different than the fishing boats "militia" of the PRC in function.

Agreed. There's no practical difference between Vietnamese little blue boats and PRC little blue boats, except there are legions more PRC ones. Other than publicity and staking claims, Hanoi might lose more than it gains by excessively irking Beijing.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. But, unlike China, Vietnam doesn't have powerful coast guard and navy to fall back on should its pinpricks fail.

That is a bit of a fake. It was an irregularly constituted panel not the Permanent Court of Arbitration that produced the fake verdict.
The arbitration tribunal is also bogus for at least two other important reasons, and they are 1) China legally exercised its right under UNCLOS to opt out of arbitration, and 2) the tribunal overreached on assuming power it didn't legally have to change the opt out clause. The fact the United Nations immediately distanced itself from the Tribunal speaks volumes. Bottom line is PRC is correct in treating the arbitration tribunal as a debate club with no legal weight at all, indignations from the International Peanut Gallery notwithstanding.

Unlike others, China's Ministry of National Defense don't write and publish reports or hold hearings about them, fulling understanding the fact that they are what they are.
Some are actually making fake bitching and moaning like a low quality Japanese AV, and writing about it LoL.
