So China has 5 bases in the South China Sea

3 of them have air bases with run ways
It's paramount to note China's dual use bases/stations are built on land features China occupied before UNCLOS ratification. It means whatever assets China adds to the reclaimed land, it is doing so on its own sovereign territory. Neocons and liberal interventionists all over the world should take that to heart.

Yes, Woody island is small compare to the whole Paracel (2.13 km² vs 15,000 km²), but it is the biggest island there and the only island there with long air strip (~3,000m).

It is indeed small but Woody island is over 100x bigger than the biggest Aircraft Carrier in the world Nimitz class :p and unsinkable ;)

it's small compared to those reefs. If reefs got reclaimed, they would be immediately be much bigger than woody island.

How safe is this Chinese newly designed floating nuclear plant, presumably to be installed in the vicinity of the South China Sea? There would be very serious concerns by countries bordering these waters. The Japanese Fukishima (sic) nuclear plant was a big disaster and still effects the surrounding land and sea areas. Great care and consideration should be taken when any new type of nuclear plant is planned. SAFETY must always be the utmost concern, and not just saving money/cost.
