When will City Planner experts in PRC wake up and reverse the ratio into (3 : 7) in favor of (Green Trees) ??

Unfortunately as of now, they have removed to many greens.

It seems the (Cement Concrete) to (Green Trees) ratio is down to around = 9 : 1

When will the PRC SCS development teams plant a dense MANGROVE forests encircling all these SCS island and reefs from the outside ... ?? ... ...for the purpose of ... ...

1) to protect all SCS island and reefs from Tsunami and High Waves during Hurricane seasons.

2) to much improve the Ecosystem of Fauna and Flora above and under the water.

3) to offer Ecotourism Paradise for everybody.

Maybe, Guangdong, Panyu, CHANGLONG Waterpark Inc. will be interested.
I am sure the PRC knows what it is doing and will manage the island appropriately for their needs. while some tourism can be expected, the main purpose of the island for the PRC is an administrative center.

When I look at the latest picture of Sansha City on Yongxing Island, the overall concrete to green is nothing like 9:1. It looks like more of a 50/50 split, or perhaps even a bit more green.

Remember, this island is not an articial Island. It is a natural island that the PRC is developing and improving. As I say, it is also the geo-political center for Chinese activites in the SCS.

A substantial infrastructure for those administrative needs is understandable, as well as the airfield. They will have the educational facilities and recreational facilities necessary to meet the needs of the people working there and those who visit. But I doubt seriously that they are planning it to be any kind of "Ecotourism Paradise" with a world class water park.

I guess GreenestGDP is allowed, once in a while, to indulge in his dream and devotion to advocate to turn YongXing Island into an "Ecotourism Paradise," and thus contribute to a greener GDP. Of course, it's unrealistic and unlikely to happen. LOL.

Of course he is allowed. His post is still here.

However, too much down that path gets OT and would have to be moved elsewhere.

Which is why I wrote what I wrote...to try and explain why.

I wasn't thinking about suggesting moderating or not his post, or anything in that direction. Just thought it was quite funny he indulges in his GeenestGDP devotion. It would be OT, of course.

they can make another island, custom designed for that. waterpark, beach, marina, scuba diving, hotel/resort, you get the idea. its a place to target young people to go for the ''golden week'' holidays and weddings. a chinese company bought club med so they have plenty of expertise to operate such a franchise.

but it's going to drive the viets and pinoys mad! :p

Thanks for posting ahojunk, I've been waiting for a map like this for a long time with information on the other SCS claimants' holdings as well as China's. Do you know where to find or if there are satellite images out there of work being done on the other SCS claimants' holdings?

The size contrasts are very impressive. The reason that China can construct such large islands is because these three islands sit on very large reef beds. Is China just lucky that these three islands happen to have large reef beds? Or is it fairly common that some reefs/islands occupied by other claimants also have such large beds such that they can also construct large islands if they can?
