LOL!

Okay, here's my vote: from right to left, you have Jester, then Iceman, then Maverick, then skip one and the next one, IMHO, is Hollywood.

I agreed with you on the Iceman and Maverick.

Here's my take: from right to left, Jester, Iceman, Maverick, then skip one, Hollywood, and the last guy is Cougar (will be turning his wings probably later)....LOL.:p

I have not seen night operations yet. When they do, you will get pictures like this:

Have they sustained any flight operation with a full deck load of aircraft, deck equipment and ammunition yet? Or has it just been a handful of aircraft practicing rudimentary landings and take offs?

speaking of carrier,in 1945,then ruling KMT ,set up long term naval build up that include air craft carrier.the carrier may acquire from USN surplus stock, has the KMT won the civil war, China could have 1 or 2 carrier in the 1950's.

Well, having 1 aircraft carrier now and a couple more in future is not so bad either. Seriously what is your point?

Of course not. And it would be completely unreasonable to expect that they would have at this point.

They do not have a full squadron of J-15s. They have only a few, and the majority of those are not full production aircraft. So, they have practised and trained with what they have, which has involved first qualifying the aircraft for the carrier with test pilots I am sure. And then getting a group of pilots who had been through their new Naval Aviation Facility, qualified for fair weather take-off and landings. Which they have done. I expect with their next deployment, they will get another group of pilots trained.

At some point, when they have more aircraft and have established all of their procedures, they will progess on to more difficult landings and take-offs, and landings and take-off with various load-outs.

But a person cannot run until they learn how to walk, and the PLAN is learning how to walk with their new naval air assets. To date, in my estimation, what they have done if fairly impressive. I expect that to continue until they have two full squadrons on the Liaoning, and then begin commisisoning and deploying more carriers and air wings.

I don't know, where are they gonna get the money to even purchase and support a complete CV battle group?

If the KMT won the civil war, China would become the lynchpin of American containment of the Soviet Union in east and Southeast Asia. It wouldn't be unreasonable to suppose the US would lavish aid on nationalist China in 1950s, and would loan or even give them with a light carrier or two to seed a modern Chinese navy to keep China on the side of the US and disconform the Soviet Union.
