I am currently looking for details of the sinking of the KMT destroyer Taiping by PLAN motor torpedo boats. Detailed info would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

brief summary. first engagement fought by PLAN. Taiping a DE, former USS Decker (DE-47), was a major combat vessel in the ROC navy. on the night of Nov 14 1954, Taiping was patrolling in Wenzhou Bay near the Chinese mainland. the 31st torpedo boat squadron with 6 torpedo boats lay in ambush. the commander of the squadron directed the battle from the peak of Tachen Island by radio. boat 155,156,157 and 158 gradually approach Taiping for over 40mins. The SC radar on the DE can't distinguish the torpedo boats from fishing boats in the area. Around 1:28AM, Taiping was spotted and commander on the peak ordered attack. Four boats in two section launched two torpedoes each. One hit on the bow of Taiping at 1:37AM. Three hours later, three ROC ships picked up 152 survivors. Taiping sunk at 7:24AM, with 28 men dead or missing.
