I think there may be a a program for building flattops until 2050, but such a program will certainly not be set in stone.
As for a financial default the Amsterdam Bank that was founded in the early 17th century and was the centre of Amsterdam's role as the main financial hub of the World had more obligations than assets scores of years before it defaulted and let London become the financial centre of the World at the end of the 18th century.

The ability to install a catapult in Type_002 is based on a development that was launched no later than the 1980s. There must be long-term planning. But exactly the same, plans are changed or rejected.

But if the efforts for a catapult had not begun in the 1980s, there would not be the possibility now. Then Type_002 would have to wait until the 2050s for its catapult.

Let's be careful about making such statements and trying to get any discussion going about the total decline and default f the US. It just leads to arguments and will get people moderated or worse.

It has taken the US 100 years to get where it is today...maintaining 11 or 12 super carriers.

what i was trying to say was the BE declined because it tried to maintain naval superiority when it's economy was struggling due to multiple conflicts and massive defense spending, America will not crumble like the BE did after WW2 what we are already seeing is an attempt to draw back from oversea commitments by America and a potential greater role for the PLAN

will the 002s be nuclear powered or conventionally powered ??

the 002 looks like a cross between the liaoning and a US carrier

Definitely conventional, as will likely the 3rd Chinese carrier. The real question is whether the 4th Chinese carrier will be conventional or nuclear. There are a lot of strong opinions either way on this one. :)

Third might be nuclear. Depends on whether we see this quickening pace continue after CV-02, and where technology is when they decide on the third carrier. Unlikely, but possible.

Actually I just realized I'm counting wrong. CV-18/002 is already China's 3rd, in which case, yes, the third domestic/fourth overall could definitely be nuclear.

Depending if the cv 18 class consists of 2 vessels .. in which case then likely the 5th carrier will be a CVN.
That's my personal observation/projection on PLAN carriers for the future.
2 ski jump boats
2-3 straight decks CVs
.. and they they go full 100k CVN like Ford class in the late 2020s/early 2030s with EMALS, E ARRESTORs, and laser CIWS and this class will eventually replace the 4 or 5 conventional ones.
It is quite possible that by the 2030s China and the US will be building very similar CVNs to each other.
