Then I used the wrong words. I mean, that aircraft carriers not designed to operate in brown water, but in blue water.

Well of course. It would be silly to have carriers never mind forming a CSG and never sail past couple hundred miles off your coast.
Aircraft carriers especially one that carries long legged birdies like the J15 is made for expeditionary warfare and force projection.

To be able to do that requires more than just assets.

One of the BIGGEST strength of USN is not because of our power projection or even our might. It is because of our FOBs and overseas bases. That my friends is our secret sauce.

Our CSGs would be useless if we have no places to park them or to project power from.
That is what PLAN needs to be able to be 100% effective.

For the defense of China you do not need aircraft carriers.

While I feel similarly that China does not need aircraft carriers per se, carriers certainly make several core interest missions easier for the PLA. Besides from what others have already mentioned regarding SLOCs and far away international interests carriers also offers advantages in Taiwan, ECS, and SCS conflict scenarios.

China is increasingly investing world-wide, China has growing global interests, China lives from worldwide trade, and Chinese citizens are spread all over the world.

China must also be able to exercise power all over the world, just as the United States does. That is why China is building a navy that will be at least equal to the American navy.

We will see Chinese naval forces in the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Mexico, all around Africa, and anywhere else on the world's seas.

Type 002 is only the beginning.
