All photos posted of US & Chinese etc. Fighter Aircraft, Warships etc. are very impressive indeed. BUT what the blue blazes if they are used to project their strengths in actual hostilities or even WW III? Leaders should seriously reflect the consequences of modern warfare - Nukes will be used. In the midst of posturing, they should think about the future of theirs and our children, grand-children, and future generations. Quite easy to fight with modern weapons, ships & aircraft BUT hard to make Peace..... Let's hope nations will take the latter which is difficult BUT possible.

Seems like only yesterday we were making CGs of this stuff...now it is all real...and they even have models of all of them.

The PLAN Carrier Strike Group vessels (soon to include CV-001A).

I imagine that in wartime a more likely CSG composition would comprise 1 carrier, 1 055, 3 052C/D/Es, 4 054A/Bs, and 2 093B+, which would be divided into an inner screen of 2 052s and 2 054s and an outer screen of 1 055, 1 052, and 2 054s. The 055 may also be placed even further out from the carrier into a picket position hundreds of km away along the expected threat axis in order to snipe incoming fighters and missiles.

901 replenishment ship also.
Thw 91 is not a part of the CSG...it is a necessarry support vessel that usuallly will have ore two escorts...but it is not a part of the CSG in terms of being with it as it conducts its attakcs, defense, etc.

It is clear the in war time, especially depending on the situation the carrier is moving towards, that the CGS will vary in its composition.

A US would probably have two Ticos, four Bukers, two SSNs, and four of whatever form tthe FFGs take.

During the cold war, where hostilities were possible at almost any time, most CSGs consisted of nine ships.

That would be the case again in such time, whether it was Russia or China...or any large maritime force capable of potentially taking on a CSG.
