Colonel
Do you mean "Note, all the photos of PLAN..."?
Because it's obviously untrue -- when PLAN sends ships for port calls, exercises, or deployments around the world other navies will quite happily take pictures of them not to mention civilians will take heaps of photos as well. So if you're implying the PLAN deliberately takes photos of their ships in a way to "mask" whatever deficits in their hulls I think you're way overreaching.

If you mean "Not all the photos of PLAN....", then I have no idea what you're trying to imply.

Also, many PLAN bases are literally next to some vacation resorts, like ones in Hainan and Sanya. Tourists take photos all the time too.

Just to settle this "wrinkle" discussion once and for all, here is a picture of a USCG Legend class cutter.
The angle of the sunlight, the angle of the camera, and especially the white paint scheme highlights the inherent presence of these artefacts in all ships. White painted ships tend to show them more obviously than darker ones, and PLAN ships feature some of the lightest paint schemes of all naval ships.

I wonder if it's made from stolen blueprints.
Even if the blueprints ( blueprints? Does anyone today still use blueprints? ) were stolen the design will have to be redone on account of the difference in materials and production methods, as well as in the different use which is to be made of the ship, so the full design will be not much more useful than a photo of the model.
BTW does US shipbuilding still use Roman Imperial measures? I know the auto makers went over to SI long ago and the aerospace industry completed the change over hastily after that Mars lander was lost due to the confusion between lbf and Newton.

I well remember the story of Fairchild building the Fokker F-27 Friendship under licence having to redo all drawings in inches and airlines who would use both versions having to have double the number of the replacement parts because these were not interchangeable between the versions. I don't think any airline was mad enough. :)

Hold your horses fellas, there's no reason to think this ship is meant for PLAN and meant to have the same role as the USN's MLP...

Chances are it's just a heavy lift ship, which the USN's MLP takes cues from.

Such ship configurations aren't exactly unique...

But this ship looks like it's in PLAN color.

But this ship looks like it's in PLAN color.

I'm not ruling out the possibility that it's for PLAN, but colour and similar appearance to MLP are hardly enough to call it china's mobile landing platform. We should await more information

I think such ships would be very useful for PLA, and their relatively low cost and similarity to civilian ships mean chinese shipyards can build a good number of them to support large scale PLA amphibious operations in blue water. The question is whether the ship we see here is meant to be one.
