Correct, that's the guy I'm referring to. Unfortunately we don't know how old he actually is. I would've wanted to say mid to late 30s but tbh he could also be in his early to mid 40s.
maybe we'll see him again! I mean

You write there's progress - I'd say that it can't be measured. I'm sure they're becoming more professional but to what extent and how it looks from the inside is a mystery for me... But you're sure in that aspect so...
lol, no. As Forbin wrote - in the best navies around the world guys of his rank would never command such a big ship. The big, capital warships are always commanded by OF-5 ranks officer (usually between 45-50 years of age) and such a big replenishment ship would be commanded by someone in OF-4 ranks with a high chance of promotion to OF-5 during his duty aboard. The reason behind such a young officer (I don't know how young are you if you think that being 35 is an appropriate age and being responsible for such a big ship) is commanding such a capital ship is of course a shortage of more experienced officers so they have to put younger ones to fill in for recent build up. Don't make theories where things are obvious...
That's a progodigy way of advance into ranks. Rarely happens. And OF-4's really command Burke class destroyers? I doubt that. Smaller ones- sure. Possible with OF-4's. If that happens it doesn't happen oustide of US Navy and I'm sure about that.
Well, from what you write you have no idea and you never even tried to think about it. Forbin wrote you how it looks in Marine Nationale and I can tell you that's how it works in every NATO country. I'm 100% sure that's also how it works in South Korean Navy and JMSDF. And you write that's normal. Well - it isn't.

It is simply irresponsible to assume one's age by his/her look. You have absolutely no evidence when assuming this guy is "too young to command such big ship". Not a thread of evidence. All your argument and judgement came from an image of an un-identified Chinese naval officer who "looks young". That's irresponsible to say the least.

I am 42 but many think I am in my late 20's because how young I look. I am a professor but many think I am a student and are shocked to learn that I am professor. "Oh! You can't be! You look so young! You must be a genius!" No I am not! I just look young. It's simply ridiculous.

So stop this nonsense unless you have actual data showing Chinese officer corps is younger than those of other navies.

It is what it is, PLAN is relatively young and developing fast, so if its officers are young, it is just the fact, accept it. Is it a bad thing? Not necessarily. It is just like most startup companies pretty much always have younger officers than traditional companies, is it bad? No, not at all!

When and where did janiz allegedly serve? His comments does not hold enough water for someone who have any military experience.

It may as well be. I have no position on good/bad of a young officer corps.

I however have a huge problem with people making conclusions based on inconclusive evidence. To this day, we have absolutely no evidence one way or another. A single imagine of an unidentified officer simply holds no water whatsoever. How can you make a sweeping conclusion on a group composed of tens of thousands of people, simply based om a single image of ONE person? Absurd!

Let's not be too presumptuous and assume that anyone who's served in the military is necessarily well informed about all aspects of military matters, nor should we assume that they are even able to approach issues in a sensible and logical manner.

I'm not well informed about all military matters. Mainly I'm versed in USN & USMC Naval Aviation. Particularly aircraft carrier flight deck operations and shipboard ordnance handling/loading..

And if I make a mistake I admit it, correct myself and move on.

..and I sincerely hope that you are not referring to me.

I'm not referring to you.

I'm partly referring to Janiz in this case if he did indeed serve in the military, but also kind of more generally joking about how important it is to understand that people who seemingly have a background of experience and expertise in one area may not be a logical or sensible person in other domains or indeed in general common sense matters.
