Anyway, as long as the Pentagon still laughed that they can hear PLAN's SSN / SSBN powering up at Tsingdao from as far as San Diego, then nothing new is out there; when they start to churn out PLAN's "alarmingly improved capabilities" and whatnot, then it's worth checking out. Seriously though, the Chinese need to "do something" about the SOSUS network that blanket the entirety of the East Asia sea floor, to "level the playing field" so to speak.

No one is saying that it is invincible. Mostly everyone is saying that the official specs for the Type 095 have not even come out yet. Yeah, we can predict what the Type 095 might have, and I fully believe that it will definitely be comparable to modern US subs, but we can't make any definite "A is better than B" comparisons since they are premature.

:D:D I am Chinese and incredibly pround of the strides our Armed Forces have made. But seriously, even if the 55 is superior to the Arleigh Burke or the 95 sub is better than Virginia, you still need evidence and reasoning for your claims. And where there is doubt in capabilities (of something that doesn’t officially exist:D) perhaps take the Chinese trait of humility and there is no harm in staying on the side of caution in claiming performance. But can’t do anything about trolls. :p

Is Taiwan's president mentally unstable? Does she really think that her country is safe? I get it, people have this conception that China is technologically inferior, but seriously, she should really take a good look at her country's armed forces.

Russia sold China 4 Sovremenny-class destroyers 2 decades ago. The Sovs were conceived at the height of the Cold War as a response to the Spruance-class destroyers being constructed by the USN. Right now the Sovs are obsolete even by Chinese standards.

I count 15 DDGs under simultaneous construction. These are the two shipyards that are building ships for the PLAN. One in Dalian and one in Shanghai. The shipyards are 24/7. There are 3 sets of workers with 8-hour shifts.

Taiwan is not safe, not by a long shot.
