Unlike the US, China has the advantage of not being affected as much by immigration, illegal narcotics etc from these countries so those issues wouldn't even be a hot potato for inter-country relationships thus allowing them to concentrate more on the clinical side of things like economy, infrastructure etc.

But didn't one of our members "Blackstone" always says that immigration is a US advantage (illegal or not)?o_O;)

apples and oranges... not trying to defend Blackstone but I'm guessing he was referring to immigration in the general sense as in the import of talents and additional infusement of labor to the workforce and vehicle of economic growth.

I was referring to immigration more as a political topic and hot issue discussion amongst the political leaders of the affected countries between US/Mexico vs China/Mexico (which doesn't exist) unless of course there are millions of Mexicans going into China that I was unaware of :)

Yeah but talents comes in both legal and illegal immigrants. America's economic growth were done by the backs of cheap illegal immigrant labors as well. We can't blame them all for our nation narcotics problems.

LOL I think you're missing the point.. All I'm saying is I doubt immigration WOULD be a topic or at least a hot topic of discussion between Chinese and Mexican leaders if or when they meet.

As an immigrant myself, I fully appreciate the importance of immigrants in the US. However, there is a principle here, which is you must obey and respect the law.

Ignoring or even rewarding law breaking would be unfair to those who obey the law. Laws are a lot of times inconvenient. My own sister was kept out of the country for a decade, while waiting for her green card. She ended up going to AUS instead. And because of that, our family has been apart for the past 30 years. Last time we were together as a whole family was 1986. Had she be willing to ignore the law and illegally entering the US, our family would have been together long long time ago. But we all decided that it's way more important to abide the law, even though it has been terribly inconvenient.

So yes, we have sacrificed so much to obey the law. And yes, I was furious when Bush Jr decided to give green cards to 3 million illegal Latino immigrants back in 2003/04. They broke the law! They were criminals. Yet, they had been rewarded for it. It's very unfair to people like us.

I have absolutely no problem with legal immigrants from anywhere. We have millions of legal Latino immigrants in Houston. I respect them with all my heart. I am an immigrant myself.

It is a very important in UK where the government reduced spending on education to the level that the economy cannot function without educated immigrants as well as immigrants who came as students and remain to work in functions for which they themselves paid the training.

Than it's not the fairness of the law, but rather the ineptness of the government to find a way to make the law fair for all immigrants.
