Using the same sat coordinates I checked Google Earth and they have a mockup image of the Liaoning right next to the drydock. I have no idea why Google did that.

If the mockup placeholder's length is to scale with the Google Earth image then whatever's in the dock is pretty long.

The Google image is dated 27 Mar 2014.

Nice photo..No aircraft or shipmates on the Roof:(. However I see shipmates on the fantail smokin' & cokin'..(goofing off or drinking soda or some other beverage:rolleyes:..coffee, tea etc..)..of course they can be back there because there's no jet shop repairing & turning engines...just sayin'..

PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 25, 2014) Aviation Machinist's Mate 3rd Class Andrew Chadwick, from Lompoc, Calif., helps position a General Electric F-414 Super Hornet engine on an engine cart in the jet engine shop aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). Carl Vinson is underway off the coast of Southern California conducting carrier qualifications as part of the ship's Western Pacific Deployment 2014. The lack of the ability to perform major repairs on aircraft engines is NOT a good thing aboard a CV. They need to fix that...right now.
