We all rumoured that Dalian will be the shipyard that will build the first carrier and mock up modules appeared a few years ago in a time span which is normal from mock up to actual ship

All pieces build the jigsaw which is in line with carrier construction

I can say that personally I can't yet see any critical component that rules it or out as a carrier but going by the other info stated I call this 001A

It would be like calling Rosyth is building a cargo ship

I totally agree and like I said before, who wants to build a huge cargo ship nowadays ?

Replenishment ships for the navy are critical and built by every major navy in large numbers. The US, China, and other major nations are building them right now.

Of course, commercial cargo ships are also built and they are the life blood of any nation with a developed maritime coast.

As to whether this vessel in question is the 1st indigenous Chinese carrier or not...at least IMHO, is still undetermined.

But time will tell.

Cargo ship is extremely important of course, what I meant at the moment the industry is facing huge over capacity and the price has been low, so it would be very little incentive to build a new cargo ship at the moment

fzgfzy's new thread regarding 002 today. As usual wait and see and compare the information later time. There seem to be no urgency or priority to build LHD as compare to carriers and modern DDG from his comments. You can read the whole thread here.

1. Consultation on project 002 is finished. Adjustment on any design changes is done. It will be steam powered Propulsion + steam-powered catapult. This won't change in the short term. Don't ask for nuclear-powered or Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS). There is non right now. We will talk about them maybe on later projects.

2. The construction of the first 002 won't begin until spring of next year(2016) in Jiangnan shipyard. Any eariler date is not real. Second 002 maybe build at Jiangnan or Dalian. But it won't start at the same time. Around 1-2 years apart.

3. 002 island is about 30% smaller. Displacement less than 80,000 tons. We will talk about other information next time.

Consultation on LHD not even started yet, final tonnage is unknown but estimated 38,000 tons. His guess is that consultation on the LHD project will be done next year(2016) and construction begin the following year.(2017) This year what we can looking forward to is the hanger deck and flight deck of 001A. And next year the launch of 001A and maybe some sections of 055.

Good eye there, it could be, but why put there (opposite dock location)? When it's much easier to just built the module next to the other module piece to be welded together instead of having to later on transport that module and placing it next by it's respected location therefore wasting time, energy and money.

Or as simple as he knows some people with the connection to these ship building projects, who shared with him some non-classify information.

If you notice he "leak" out information on only navy equipments. He is a navy forum moderator over there and like lcloo mentioned before he supposedly also a writer for a military magazine about ships in China.
