I really can't say, but rumors that 601 is developing a stealth tactical bomber has been around for quite some time. Here are a few images that are (maybe) linked to this.


This I believe is a model which has been in SAC's exhibition center quite a few years ago.

So I guess this project really exists, but its either been cancelled or has a very very high confidential level, for no photos of a prototype was ever released.

I know these rumours, but the point is first, how credible is this guy "9谢艺航6" and second, how likely is it that both a revised "follow-up version of the FC31" and a stealthy "side-by-side dual-seat stealth tactical bomber" make both their maiden flight together or at least a test flight and no-one posts images or better no-one others reports on this??

Usually we got reports on such an event many days in advance, we get images of that particular bird on the ground, during taxi tests and so on ... but here nothing.

I must admit I won't bet ...

I kinda agree. I believe this guy to be a Shenyang resident who frequently take photos of planes at SAC, but as to his credibility other than a photo provider I cant be sure. However, actually its quite normal in China to conduct test flights in secret with no reports (take J-15T for example, we don't really have any information of that aircraft except a few images of it in the air with landing gear extended)

In conclusion I would not bet anything major on this guy's words, but anyway lets wait and see.

Guess so, but similar rumors have been repeated a few times by different sources recently (maybe an organized event?) so I think we'll just need to wait and see

I think he was merely being sarcastic. No one in his right mind would honestly believe that they've flown a fighter-bomber and a new 5th gen aircraft without anyone knowing.

The secrecy levels for nuclear capable bombers could be very different to a stealth fighter. Not saying it is necessarily at a very advanced stage or even existing at all, but nuclear delivery platforms are usually not shown until they are completely or almost finished. It was like that with the 094 and the DF-41.
