Or it is just optic effect. Look at the J-20 model, there is the dark region on the left side.

The JF-17 has a polished fuselage and leading edge (left wing).

It could be that, these models are made of metal with matte surface finish. For some reason such as being rubbed in hand, the matte surface becomes polished enough to be reflective. The dark regions are reflecting surrounding objects giveing the feeling of opening. Matted aluminium or brass are quite easy to loose the finish by daily usage, hand, cloth and paper.

What looks like a cockpit could actually just be the intake with a DSI bump.

All those aircraft look like they're to scale to each other. If that one at the airshow is actual size, that ain't the same aircraft if the scale in the other pic is correct.

They're definitely not to scale with each other. The JF-17 is almost as long as the J-20 not to mention bigger than the J-10 lol.

More than a little; the aircraft are scaled completely off lol

J-20 we know is like 20.5-20.7m long.
    JF-17 is 14.93m long
    J-10 is 16.43m long.

An H-6K fighter jet attached to a naval aviation brigade under the PLAN takes off from the airport on August 1, 2019. All aircraft of the PLA naval aviation troops participating in the "Aviadarts-2019" international competition of the International Army Games 2019 have arrived at the Dyagilevo military airport in Ryazan Oblast, Russia for pre-competition warm ups.

strange, that they refer to a "naval aviation brigade under the PLAN", since all but the JH-7A (from the former 9th NAD) are clearly from the PLAAF.

IL-76, H6K and Y9 are all 中国空军 China Airforce. Obviously the military knowledge level of the reporter is very much lacking.
