China is a big country with lots of military fans with some photoshop skills. We usually get to see many different versions of fan art drawing on what some future PLA equipments might look like as soon as some kind of information is leaked out or announced.

There is only 2-3 artists who are really good at it or they have some inside information. And their drawings usually come close to what the real thing actually look like. But most of the other fan arts are just their own imagination or modified U.S equipments. I still like these artists or fan boy art work. It's kind interesting to see who ended being the closest to the real thing. Here is another version from CD forum.

...which implies that prototype flight might be occurring very soon, if it hadn't already.

To be honest, the Z-10 needs a heavier complement or a replacement. Its weak engine has forfeited it a plethora of potential enhancements including (but not limited to) a MMW radar, better armor plating, and a heavier payload.

It will be interesting to see what this new helicopter will be like.

Once they have an official designation for it, and are coming out with the first prototype, I will use newguys original post to start a specific thread on it. right now there is just too much unknown, and there will probably be long lapses of information.
