PLA "Stride-2014" Military Exercise

"Stride-2014 Zhurihe" series exercise started in May 31st and will last until July 28th. The degree of simulation and confrontation is unprecedented.

The "Red" force fought against the combination of US' air and electromagnetic dominance, Soviet's armor assult, PLA's morale and infantry tactics, and the permission of WMD!

Many comments from the Chinese netizen suggest that PLA is preparing for a war with Martian.
6 brigades from 6 different Military Region had already been "torture" by the OPFOR, 195th brigade form 65GA, and the 7th has just been sent into this "meat glinder". ;)

Only one from 39GA(Elite army, strategic deterrence force confronting Korea, 1 of 3 RRF) among those 6 vanquished the formidable enemy, with horrifying personnel casualty and equipment loss: 14 ZTZ-99 and 4 IFV were "lost" in front of the first stronghold. Even the tank crews abandoned their damaged vehicle then joined the final charge scrambling the final enemy position.

The exercise is named by the place it held, the Zhurihe Base in Inner Mongolia.

Do you guys want to know more? Just reply "yes" if you do! If I can get more than TWENTY affirmative before the end of July 28th(GMT+8), I'll add more details of "Stride-2014 Zhurihe".

Yes, definitely.

From what I've heard about the stride 2014 exercises, they've been some of the most (deliberately) lopsided exercises the PLA have ever devised, and they're shifting brigades with differing levels of expertise and equipment.

YES! YES!! YES!!! YES!!!! YES!!!!! Can that count as five yes's?
There is such a general lack of news regarding PLA ground forces, at least on this forum, and these sound like very competitive exercises with a variety of units participating.

I didn't think of this…… but ok. 07/20 within 4h, looks like I can get a satisfying outcome?

yes, definitely interested about this excercise.

Chinese forums were busy for weeks discussing this excercise in great detail. Would be interesting have some of that here in an english speaking forum.

I wonder if the PLA will continue this form of excercise, establish it as some kind of tradition in the future as well. Would be interesting to see how the outcome will change when the next generation of ground combat assets are in full operation, like the NLOS missile carriers based on the ZBD04A chassis/CM-501G truck MRLS, HJ-12 Sino-Javelin, ZH-05/Type-1X OICW etc.

Another yes vote for you phoenix. Having large and complex military exercises is a great way to further sharpen PLA's skills in cerebration for PLA's August 1st birthday.
