Yeah the got samples of the QBZ97 right after it first came out then cloned it. Broccli posted pictures of them almost a year ago.

Broccoli is correct it is a carbine conversion but is it a toy? I hope so.

I've seen this kit used but only that show The 100. It's a nice way for tv productions and prop companies to make extra use of their stockpile of glocks. Make a standard glock sidearm into a more menacing PDW or carbine.

since it looks different from a "Regular" Prop gun used in the now thy are often used for Scifi future guns or Alien weapons.
Actually, you get better sci-fi guns by pimping those NERF guns, besides by now all those light effects can be added at post-precessing, thanks to the wonder of CGI.

Canadian company Lever Arms has developed and imported a 12 gauge bullpup shotgun built around the Chinese QBZ rifles. - See more at:

so now QBZ joins the AR15 and AK in having a shot gun version

So a local-level company outsourced to Norinco for some novelty models to test the waters, I think? I love bullpup designs, but I still firmly believe a proper shotgun should be full-lengthed, with enough room for the bolt to travel to dampen the recoil, or just gimme a good-o' pump-action that even its cocking sound itself is stopping power!

yeah she's a novelty model but I can only really think of the Saiga 12, the MKA 1919/Safir T-14 as Shotguns like her in that they are evolved form a Assault rifle and share training looks and parts..

It's not based on the QBZ 95 but derived from a variant that was identified as the "18.4mm Lethal/Non-lethal Semi-Automatic Riot Control Gun" 12 gauge generally fits a 18.5mm bore so there has been modification
