Yeah but they're still having trouble with recruiting. Today's Taiwanese youths are not as enthusiastic about joining the armed forces to protect the island as they were before.

Not my point. I am simpy pointing out that the Taiwanese video used an original animation and not footage taken out of context and copyright.

Point of the thread a Official PLA video used footage of a non PLA aircraft from a outside source. IE context.
Given the habit of Chinese weapon makers and the PLA of using stock footage from western movies like Top Gun for their promotional videos by saying I wouldn't be surprised to see a DF21D video using cuts from Transformers 2. Another member agreed with me. Another brought up the Taiwanese transformer video trying to draw a link. I pointed out that at least they were original about it. Even if it didn't succeed.

I think the biggest problem here is the PLA doesn't have enough video to make a nice looking propaganda. As for Taiwanese youth, I think they have obligation to join military after finishing high school. Maybe they don't choose to stay in military after that, I don't know.

So do the youth in the PRC has an obligation to join the military or not. The youth in Taiwan knows full well they could never survive a fight against a strong opponent like China, Japan, or Russia with the lack of high tech weapons their armed forces poses.
