Captain
@Deino @FORBIN

Dennis Blasko and Scramble got it wrong. The reality is:
  1. 75th GA is former 41st/14th
  2. 74th GA is former 42nd

Here's concrete proof: skip to 1:25.

The LH unit is stated very clearly to be 74集团军某陆航旅, or 74th GA certain LH brigade, and the tail number of the Z-8s are 96803, 96810, as below.

If possible, please notify Scramble that they got 74th and 75th LH swapped around.

In concept for me its seem to be very similar with Gibbs products
More then Concept It's almost a 1 for 1 as Gibbs Amphibians are supposed to be 30+MPH in the water.
The Question comes to roll and actual abilities. the configuration does not actually seem like a fighting vehicle or atleast not a full one. This seems more like a Utility or atleast Scout vehicle in which case it fits the gibbs Concepts which sacrifice ground protection for sea speed. In that case a comparison to the Iveco/BAE SuperAV or ZTD 05 is wrong. ( but then Popsci often falls into this trap)
The ZBD 05 and that family of vehicles are actual armored Amphibious fighting vehicles there aim is to land forces and engage enemy formations. As such although they make sacrifices in terms of armor and internal capacity they are designed for Amphibious operations.
The EFV concept was a larger vehicle of similar role. to carry a Reinforced USMC Infantry formation to the Front at speed but with heavier protection levels.
When that was canceled the Marines moved to the then MPC and redesigned that program into the ACV using the existing AAV7A1 capabilities as baseline for Amphibious needs but with significant improvements for Infantry protection. This is as Rather then push the envelope the Marines decided on the Conservative track using off the Shelf offerings based on existing vehicles. the SuperAV is more or less the Italian AAV
Basically the Iveco/BAE SuperAV ACV version swims just like the AAV7A1 but protects far better.
And then The Marines moved to the AAV7 SU as the ACV only carries 11 Marines and the Marine Corps AAV7A1 has other mission types and roles in the Corps.

This new Chinese Vehicle is already at a disadvantage being on 4 wheels for off road and at such a light weight for armor these indicate a vehicle that at best fits more either the Hummvee or LARC V scouting, transporting and utility mission sets which is what Gibbs was really trying to offer. They lack the protection to take a hit but offer a dry ride to the front for MRE's and Ammo or casualties back to the boat.

Additionally right now The Japanese have taken an interest in Amphibious operations, And there Mitsubishi tracked amphibious vehicle demonstrator is supposed to making 28mph in the water, With aimed goal of a vehicle packing in a 15 man capacity that would make it almost as fast as the gibbs with the swim of the EFV and capacities of the EFV.

Increasing exposure of PLA in Hongkong Yes they need to show the traitor and willy nilly liberal who is the boss here
I think they treat those rebellious kid too kindly

The HK police force is the proper force, and an able force, to deal with civil disturbances though I think they can use some equipment upgrades such as water cannons. The PLA in HK needs to be used more to develop a sense of national belonging and pride in the locals.
