Should be something they can easily retrofit on any existing planes they already have in service.

Now China just needs to build up its tanker fleet.

Seeing how they're probably getting close to 5+ Y20 airframes per year, if half of them go towards the tanker variant, and with a ramp up similar to C-17 ramp up, in 5 years PLAAF may have something like 15+ Y-20 tankers. *if* that is made a priority, of course.
