Thank you, does this mean that the KJ-500 is not on a technological parity with its western counterparts? (I haven't seen these kind of antennae on modern AEW&Cs) and the western planes have these same antennae integrated on their fuselages? or is is just that the PLA deems necessary to have them and NATO countries don't need them for use of a different complement? (satellites?)

Does anyone has any idea how many of these is in service? Of all the specialise aircraft we know, these one 's seem to be the least known.

Well we have 2 that are commission into the PLAN air force then we have 6 new one that was last seen here it is

So I would say between 8 and 10
That is fast production rate though they need more Japan has 100 P3C So China has a long way to catch up. But that is the legacy of cold war when Japan was tasked to tail Soviet Union sub
With the new array of super sensitive MAD they might get a chance
