First modified KJ-200 AEW spotted. It no longer has that strange Pinocchio-style nose but a Y-9-radome.

Looking much better ... but is it a new bird or a modified one ?

The latest image (December 2016) indicated that at least one KJ-200 has been upgraded. Compared to the original design, this new version (

?) features a nose mounted AEW radar antenna, which could give the aircraft a better coverage in the forward hemisphere. As the result the chin mounted weather radar has been removed. It is possible that all remaining KJ-200s will be upgraded to the KJ-200A standard.

Not sure if this is a new plane or a new photo of in service KJ-500H PLAN definitely need all kind of sensor I believe they just got 4 brand new ELINT. I thought there are 2 KJ-500 with PLAAF and 2 KJ-500H , 4 KJ-200with PLAN

Yes for sure, it's the no. 85092 assigned to the already well known new "Regiment" or whatever sub-unit assigned to the 9. Naval Air Division. This unit also uses the Y-8GX-6/KQ-200 ASW-version.

The only mystery thing is, why that new serial ?? No other unit uses a "5" as the second digit ...

Yep i have see since some months*, SSF have Rgts 22th -27th maybe 28th ? but exist in these Fleet and ESF also a Rgt not numbered with UAVs BZK-005 normaly independent but not sure and can be a problem for number...!

Completely make sense with SCS, SSBNs... AWACS and ASW MPAs based there.

I think that 陆军 (meaning army) is actually the name of the designer, so that is just a pun about his name. (This reminds of the song "boy named Sue", but perhaps this name is "normal" in chinese ?)
