All options including military action open on Iran: Israel

Israeli Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz said on Thursday that all options including military action were on the table in the face of the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran.

Speaking to public radio as crunch talks on Iran's nuclear programme continued in Switzerland, Steinitz said Israel would seek to counter any threat through diplomacy and intelligence but "if we have no choice we have no choice the military option is on the table."

Iran to Receive Modernized Version of Russian S-300 Missile Defense Systems

Moscow will deliver modernized versions (?) of the S-300 missile defense systems, Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan told RIA Novosti on Friday.

“It should be noted that the Russian side has included some definite improvements to the system that we need to learn from the technical point of view.”

Dehghan said that no additional Russian specialists would be needed since all of the Iranian specialists working with the system had already gone through training.

The necessary training skills for using this system were held during the previous contract so we don’t need to invite any [Russian] consultants to give instructions on using this system,” he added.

The same day, Iran’s Defense Ministry said the S-300 deal could be closed by the end of 2015.

Official: Iran needs 500 passenger planes

Iran needs to buy up to 500 passenger planes in the next 10 years to renovate its aging fleet, head of the country’s aviation organization says.

A number of plane manufactures have traveled to Iran over the past year, discussing possible agreements and assessing the market, Ali Reza Jahangirian said, without naming the airlines.

Those sanctions, however, have not prevented Iranian airlines from keeping their fleet airworthy and Jahangirian said his organization’s revenues rose 60% last year.

Boeing entered into an agreement with Iran Air in 2014, which generated $120,000 in gross revenues, the American company said then.

The deal included sale of aircraft manuals, drawings and navigation charts:confused: as well as data to the Iranian flag carrier airline.

American engine manufacture General Electric has also received permission from the US government to sell spare parts to Iran.

Iran urges united resistance front against US expansionism

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan (R) meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoygu in Tehran in January 2015.

The Iranian defense minister has called for the establishment of a united front against the expansionist policies of the United States and its allies, describing it as a necessity.

Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan on Thursday hailed Russia for not trusting the United States, saying Tehran and Moscow should insist on adopting policies to foil security threats facing them.

“We support Russia’s correct understanding at the strategic level that the US government could not be a reliable friend and partner,” said Dehqan in a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu.

The Russian defense minister, for his part, urged the expansion of ties between Tehran and Moscow, saying constructive relations between the two sides can play an important role in securing regional and global stability

The Russian defense chief lashed out at Western governments for imposing sanctions on sovereign states, describing them as tyrannical and against international regulations.

Shoygu further took a swipe at the United States for its unilateral policies across the world and called on all countries to to work together closely to confront and foil Washington’s one-sided moves.

He then urged Russia, China and Iran to hold a joint summit in the near future to coordinate their policies for confronting common threats.

NEZAJA announced some new achievements today:
Aghareb "wheeled tank," up-armored BTR-60PB with the old turrets of M47M tanks upgraded to Sabalan. It was designed to be as simple to manufacture as possible:
No offence to the Iranian military industry but the same design by Cuba 30 years ago seems better designed.
The ridge on the tank turret is very odd, wonder what purpose it serves.
The future tank deserves a role in the next Mad Max movie, it reminds me of a less armored version of something built on an American reality TV show .

I dub thy The RIP-OFF.
the Rip saw on which it looks to be cloned is called the Ripsaw,

Oh boy.. this ''Aghareb'' wheeled tank is a real shit.. Army's ground forces can't end up without failure!!!

The Army ground forces has a history of failures and developing junk and it has a disastrous planning for equipment

Aghareb is built using the existing BTRs and dismantled M47s turrets

and remember This (so called) tank is the work of Army technicians Not the MOD engineers

The commander of army said :
" we are producing it for proxy wars "
Thank god it will never be used in Iranian Army.

Only things worthy here are those 2 two snipers and the combat robot which can be highly improved to turn in to a guerrilla warfare beast.

First lets separate what we are discussing.
My Comments were in reference to the Iranian Ripsaw clone which is a tracked vehicle loosely resembling the Hiss Tank from the original GI Joe toy line. If you were to classify it as a tank it would be called a Tankette which is defined as a small lightly built vehicle roughly the size of a car.

Being honest most of the Iranian armored vehicles are lightweights compared to modern Western types this seems to root from there Soviet/Russian dealings as well as pre-revolution period procurement the exception seems to be the T72 and the iranian Zulfiqar series tanks which are still fairly light for a MBT.

MEK leader to testify before Congress

"They're not on the foreign terrorist list now, and they should be treated as if they're not on the foreign terrorist list," said panel chairman Ted Poe, R-Texas, an Iran hawk and one of the

in recent years.

Other panel members backed the controversial decision to invite a group that has been tied to attacks against US business and diplomatic interests in Iran under the Shah. The MEK renounced violence in 2001.

"I'd be very surprised if leaders of [Ireland's] IRA or Sinn Fein haven't been involved in official congressional business over the past two decades," said Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif. "It's clear that the MEK has revealed things about the Iranian government and its nuclear program that no one revealed. I would say the MEK is a very valuable source of information, whether it's

, whether it's the original nuclear program, etc. And so since they've been a good source of information about important matters, those are the kinds of people you listen to at a hearing."

The official went on to urge lawmakers to be wary of any claims that the NCRI — a group that fought alongside Saddam Hussein in the Iran-Iraq War and
has alleged ties to the CIA and Israel's Mossad — represents a viable Iranian opposition.

Poe said he had invited Rajavi to testify about the threats the Islamic State (IS) poses to MEK members who remain at Camp Liberty in Baghdad. The NCRI has accused Iranian-backed militias of

against the refugee camp in recent weeks.

Although committees usually avoid asking non-US citizens to testify, Poe said it made sense to get Rajavi's perspective in this case.
