A scavenged scan eagle, looks like it was already trashed before the Iranians got it. Probably crashed in Iraq or Afghanistan. A Iranian recovery team could have then slipped across the boarder and smuggled it out. Or some locals either militants or civilians picked it up saw the markings and had heard there were some people looking for just this kinda thing. They then made contact and got themselves a new car or something with the bounty. Scan Eagle is subsonic short range and unarmed. They are usually used for simple recon missions. As you can see in the Iranian intelligence photos, its launched off a simple catapult system. Its not very stealthy or all that impressive really.
You can also see the Iranians were looking for the Israeli made Hermes drone again not a top of the line super drone. I think last month the Iranians claim they shot a "Israeli Stealth drone" down over there nuclear weapons plant. The drone in question turned out to be a Hermes or at least a very good approximate.
The Iranians have cloned scan eagle there version the Yassir? Is in service and has found its way to Hezbollah as well.

there is no official story about this incident on internet

but an unofficial story published on net last year
translation:

first Scan Eagle, was landed in a rice field in early 2006,
in early stages, IRGC Air force was using a device for sending intensive and centralized Electromagnetic waves on target ( from different location for more effect) causing it's certain boards unaccessable for it's central processor.
in fact it was very simple and innovative, and hardest part was targeting moving drone for a certain period of time.
in this type of attack, drone becomes uncontrollable, but unfortunately, some of the circuits and memory will get permanent damage too.
For example, I can tell that all of it's memory was completely destroyed and only log data and data location remained healthy.
this drone violated our territories for several times. in the 7th or 8th stage, a night before capture we decide to cover rice fields with water.( gosh, Lack of equipments)
The next day drone entered the region with very low altitude and high speed.
About 10 seconds after sending the noise, engine sound become very treble and instead of a soft landing, drone got down vertically,
in fact this attack increased drone's speed instead of turning it off.
After sending waves (they called it,the scourge of God) drone just hit the ground like a meteorite.
probably whatever happend in engin control unit, the same thing has happen for the flap step motors, cause wing's flaps were in maximum drag state.
Cruise altitude was so low that noise signals damaged some of the cell phones in the town.(memory loose, ...)
in the result of heavy crash, unfortunately optical cover and it's lens destroyed. this problem solved in later hunts by using nets.
after crash still it's engine was working so we cut off it's spark plugs.
fuel hose was torn but it enjoyed a high tech to block itself in the the case of exposure to air and stretch. This was really interesting for our material staff.
petrol tank was built using grade one fiber carbon and was intact.
crash mostly impacted on Optics section ,prevented of further harm to Nano SAR section, fortunately noises didn't harm the radar, so it was completely healthy and we send it to Tehran the same day.
interestingly the mother ship was sending rescue signal even an hour after the crash .
Note that the rescue signal circuit does not use battery power. But charges itself by receiving strong rescue signal and then discharges by sending replying signal.
However, after the fall we isolated the drone to prevent it's responds(we were prepared for such a scenario)
More interestingly the square above the drone is place of the rescue circuit which other ignorants think it's GPS navigation position.
position of GPS is in front of the wing root line and above the SAR radar.
most of the damages was given by the small rocks which you can see it's signs on the body. however optical lens was broken, but it's UV-Vis and CCD was healthy.
The most important part in the report of the polymer staff was small gasket between the engine and chassis interface which have the highest technology to prevent the transmission of engine vibrations to the drone body.

Now some good news:
Radar-absorbent coating and carbon fiber and alloy blade and the detector is now fully localized.
remains SAR radar which is under development and probably will finish in one year.one of our aircraft will be equipped with this radar, I don't know maybe qaher313.

IS that a Greyhound Bus With armor plates bolted on? Well I can tell you this It's a Road only vehicle.
The Other Major new Vehicle looks like a classic Mrap. Then the Mad Max Toyota Hilux with Cages and dozar blades. more or less par for the course of a major Paramilitary Police agency

The Gun Jammed. this is a classic failure to extract. You can see the spent Cartridge case stuck in the ejection port.

Should've add some CLP lubricant on the bolt before firing.:p

Saudi Arabia has requested the sale of Patriot hardware including 202 Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC-3) missiles, 36 launcher station modification kits, and six fire-solution computers. Worth an estimated USD1.75 billion, the sale would help replenish Saudi's current stock of Patriot missiles. These are "becoming obsolete and difficult to sustain due to age and the limited availability of repair parts", the Defense Security Cooperation Agency told the US Congress on 30 September.

The proposed sale also includes one Guidance Enhanced Missile (GEM) Flight Test Target/Patriot as a Target, two PAC-3 telemetry kits, and two missile round trainers, as well as ground support equipment, spare and repair parts, range support, and technical and logistics support.

Turkish F-16 and F-4 warplanes have bombed Kurdish PKK rebel targets in Hakkari province near the Iraqi border, Turkish media report.

Both sides have been observing a ceasefire and it is the first major air raid on the PKK since March 2013.

Hurriyet daily said the air raids near the south-eastern village of Daglica on Monday caused "heavy casualties".

Kurds are angry at Turkey's refusal to help defend the Syrian border town of Kobane from Islamic State militants.

The Turkish newspapers Cumhuriyet and Milliyet have also reported clashes on Monday between the PKK and troops in the Tunceli area of east-central Turkey, far from the border.

The Turkish military said the Daglica air strikes were a response to sustained Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) shelling of a military outpost in the area.

The PKK had attacked the outpost for three days with heavy machine guns and rocket launchers, Hurriyet reported.

Actually nearly every country including the U.S. and U.K. overspends on their military for reasons of national pride and paranoia. What percent of all the fighter planes purchased in the last 30 years world wide have seen combat? What percent of the submarines? What percent of the air-to-air missiles? What percent of the nuclear weapons? The answer are nearly zero.

But ask that question of schools, roads, hospitals, and ambulances. What percent of classrooms are overcrowded? What percent of roads are jammed with traffic or full of potholes? What percent of hospitals are overloaded?

What percent of Algerian teenagers want to attend university but cannot afford it? How many scholarships could one MEKO destroyer pay for?

Military spending is money directed to an unlikely future problem. Social spending is money directed to guaranteed problems seen today.

Catching up.
I don't believe you know but Algeria has a long coast to protect with major oil/petroleum infrastructure on the coast and...has been under arms embargo for the last 20 years because they have been fighting the same characters that have been sweeping through Iraq, Syria etc.

That said, education is free in Algeria which shows you do not know much about that country besides what you read. Each ministerial department gets its share of the budget and given the mess created in Libya and elsewhere prior the Defense budget has been up these last 5 years. Education and Health have always been at the top but now now stand second and third. Such is life.

No country is perfect and certainly Algeria has its share of issues. Lots of money is poured to resolve social issues, in some cases irresponsibly i may say but hey you need to keep and maintain peace among the people.

Some navy men believe that Algeria should try to regain its naval mediterranean power status from 3 centuries ago and challenge the 6th fleet. Just kidding :). I would have spent more money on soldiers' protective gear, MRAPs, drones and attack helicopters; MI-28 are on their way though.

So give them a break.
