Pakistan to Receive AH-1Z VIPER Attack Helicopters in the end of this year.

The first batch of three helicopters will be delivered in the end of 2017, whereas the remaining nine will arrive in 2018, based on information obtained from Bell Helicopters.

These AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters will be equipped with H-1 Technical Refresh Mission computers, AN/AAQ-30 Target Sight Systems, 629F-23 Ultra High Frequency/Very High Frequency Communication Systems, H-764 Embedded Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation Systems, Helmet Mounted Display/Optimized Top Owl, APX-117A Identification Friend or Foe, AN/AAR-47 Missile Warning Systems, AN/ALE-47 Countermeasure Dispenser Sets, AN/APR-39C(V)2 Radar Warning Receivers, Joint Mission Planning Systems, and General Dynamics M197 20 millimeter cannons.

So did they go with AH1Z, Does that mean that the T129 and Z10 offers are over

No Both options are on table (refer to post # 599) & news around is PAK Army will include both systems...

@timepass - the early airborne warning thread over at the PDF said ZDK-3 performance has been disappointing. Do you have any details on that? Is it why PAF purchased more Erieye instead of ZDK-3?

Well currently ZDK-3 are based in Karachi & used mainly on marine duties & the reports are quite encouraging but nothing much available from sources, so I am quite skeptical...

However, there are some news that at current authorities are seriously evaluating KJ-500 to complement Eireyes while ZDK-3s will be shifted for PN duties & soon we will hear something on this (between 4-8 numbers are in news).

I will not be shocked if KJ-500 will come along with J-10Ds in PAF colors....

Russia offers Pakistan to join Sukhohi Super Fighter Jet project




MOSCOW (NNI): Russia has invited Pakistan to invest in the Sukhohi Super Fighter Jet project being developed by Russia which is the fifth generation fighter jet project developed by Moscow.

Russian minister for industry and trade Denis Valentinovich Manturov offered Pakistani counter part on the sidelines of St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) held from June 1-3.

Pakistani Minister Jatoi urged Russia to take benefit from Pakistan’s investment friendly policies and the progress made in large-scale industries. The meeting aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in industrial sector between both the countries. The minister also invited Denis Manturov to visit Pakistan.

Manturov proposed the minister to invest in Sukhoi Superjet Project. He also apprised the minister on financial and other related aspects of the North-South Gas Pipeline Project. Jatoi assured that he would convey Manturov’s message to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources.

The Minister also briefed the Russian side on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, stable political and economical policies and auto policy of Pakistan. Denis Manturov showed keen interest in Pakistan’s economic stability and development projects.

Hold up a second, Sukhoi Superjet is the Superjet 130 Airliner. Are they actually talking about fighters or airliners? They say Sukhoi Superjet fighter but that makes no sense .

So India bailed on Pak Fa, and now Russia is trying to sell to Pakistan? But the Russians have to my knowledge never called PAK FA Super fighter.
They have called it a number of things but never "Super Fighter"

I think Russia is trying to partner up with Pakistan to develop a silent Sukhoi fighter from the original frame by using stealth coating. It won't be as stealth as the PAK-FA T-50 of course.
