It's about time this happened. Type-054s are suited to Pakistan Navy's requirements. Pakistan needs to bring more focus toward Navy's expansion. As CPEC progresses toward launch, it is imperative that Pakistan Navy is well equipped to safeguard Pakistan's maritime interests.

Hmm ... that's looks an impressive modernization program of Pakistan Navy. I am keen on knowing whether Zulfiqar Class frigates be upgraded? Unless of course the Zulfiqar Class would be grouped with the Corvettes to provide air defence and Pakistan Navy would opt for more Type-054s. It would make more sense to have more Type-054s for air defence and Type-056s for anti-submarine warfare.

There is no clarity as to which type of Milgem ship Pakistan Navy will be getting from Turkey. Although I am completely against this procurement, since Turkey isn't a reliable partner. Ironically, the unreliability is NOT on part of Turkey, rather it's Western partners on the Milgem project. Simply don't trust them one bit.

But yes, I see where Pakistan Navy is going with the modernization. Where seeks to protect its maritime interests and deny any adversary the ability to place a naval blockade in the Arabian. A crucial component of that would be Coastal Air Defense reinforced with the likes of S-400s, BUK & Panstir. We also need supersonic, manoeuvrable, long-range anti-ship missiles.

All in all, the modernization looks great.

The Bajwa Doctrine: The Pakistani Military Has Done More than Enough...

pa-34082438_-_copy.jpg

In their own words, Pakistan’s generals lay-out the ‘Bajwa Doctrine’ – their vision for the future of US–Pakistani military cooperation in the age of President Trump. From their perspective, Pakistan has done more than enough to secure neighbouring Afghanistan, and is not intimidated by the threat of US funding cuts.
