Once Upon a Maritime in the Western Pacific by Jeff Head

off-topic, sorry, I'll just finish :)
... the IJN Nagato, which probably was designed 100 years ago ... I'll try to look it up, ...

a Polish source says the design was approved in February, 2016 BUT according to p. 31 of Stille's IJN Battleships 1941-5
The original design was finalized without benefit of the lessons from the great dreadnought clash at Jutland in 1916, so Hiraga was forced to recast his design.

a question: how do you call the fore funnel shaped like this :)

(from what I figured, the Nagato had "that" from mid 1920s to mid 1930s)

On the other end of the naval tech spectrum, I am expecting Hydra to score big!

Same or similar concept applies in space in addition to old Star Wars lasers and railguns.

And a powered exoskeleton has to play a pivotal role somehow!

Meant to say *good* old Star Wars lasers and railguns...

UUVs and UAUVs will figure into this story.
Of course, I'm sure the X-47B will be a star??? LOL, hopefully the F-35C and B as well?? but I do like the fellows idea of the Iowa resurrected, maybe masters Jura and Scratch can collaborate on their own little tale, and I would read it. I hope that out of family interest you will include a little Attack sub action as well??? I can't wait?

AFB, I know you would, but it's going to be a book written by Jeff, not by the SDF! LOL!

Oh course Jura, I was suggesting that you and Master Scratch write your own book about a resurrected Iowa, you have a wealth of Naval knowledge, and Master Scratch would be an awesome collaborative source... I doubt any 10 of us would know more than the HeadMaster??? LOL he is a library on two feet??

Having in mind Jeff's earlier statements and visions, I quiet exspect to see Lightning II aircraft leading an airborne task force into action and directing a group of UCAVs into the fight. Doing DEAD stuff, complementing Growlers on a SEAD mission. And all that.
Of course lately I think there's indication the navy might scale back the UCLASS a little bit away from proper strike towards ISTAR and light attack. Possibly favouring a Sea Avenger type over a X-47B development? But hopefully not in Jeff's mind.
With the right comm channels, they could certainly offer some intel for SSNs as well. Or maybe there's gonna be mini UAVs employed from the subs directly.
