Trump reopen the sell or not, this European strategy is the most important step of Huawei and should be continued regardless. Bite me once shame on you, bite me twice shame on me.

They will attempt to sanction those companies

If US never weaponized the dollar, it would've remained the hegemon for another century. They've ruined it.

A Chinese learning something = theft of intellectual property

Kyle Bass- "So how do we deal with hundreds of thousands of Chiense spies". Bannon- "We kickem out".

LOL, I told ya, Bannon is nothing but a populist opportunists looking to further his own career. All these tactics are idiotic. Prosecuting Chinese American scientists and professionals? LOL, the CCP would literally break their atheism code and pray to God for magically making the Americans prosecute scientist and professionals of Chinese origin. I am really loving Trump and Bannon more and more now!

That whole thing is idiotic. The strategy in the first place is a brain drain. Scientists and professionals are the brain power of a nation/people. The US had an edge over many other powerful nations in this matter because they are able to "drain the brain" from other nations by providing professionals and scientist better opportunities. Now, if this whole prosecuting Chinese scientist is a real coherent and thoughtful move, the only rational reason behind it could be that the US felt it is lacking the cash to fight a research-opportunity arms race with China.

What this means is that the US finds that it will need to maintain and increase its benefits and funding for research, in order to keep a edge over what China is providing scientists in terms of pay, benefits and funding. But the US does NOT want to admit that it is not in a good shape to fight over Chinese-speaking researchers with China. So the US is basically using this whole "spy" conspiracy as an excuse for quitting that arms race with China in terms of resources input into research per researcher. This will be an effective move to make research more cost-effective in the US. But for China, this is also a plus, because China also no longer need to keep shoving money in order to heighten its own per researcher benefit/pay/funding.

This means that it would be cheaper for China to hire a Chinese speaking researcher internationally. This would also mean that less and less young Chinese scientists would look onto the US as their career destination. Most of them will remain in China. This will increase competition, which is good for China. As for the US, this truce won't last long. Soon, they will start competing with China for researchers from other nations.

Sending ethnic Chinese academics from the US back to China is the best thing the US can do to cement Chinese technological dominance and let their own fall. This will be followed by kicking out Indian and Eastern European academics, which will be followed by the collapse of the US higher educational system and tech companies.

I didn't know cooling down electronic chips can help to save that much of electrical energy.

Alibaba to deploy liquid-cooled processors for Double 11

    Source: Xinhua| 2019-11-09 18:39:33|Editor: mingmei

HANGZHOU, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- China's Alibaba is seeking large-scale deployment of a self-developed liquid-cooling technology on the processors in its data center prior to the arrival of the Double 11 shopping spree Monday.

The new tech launched Thursday by Alibaba Cloud, the cloud service provider under Alibaba Group, is a special liquid coolant whose function is similar to soaking Alibaba's numerous processors in cool water.

It is part of Alibaba's efforts to promote a more environmentally friendly annual online sales promotion, according to the company.

Test results have shown total energy consumption is expected to be reduced by more than 70 percent, which means the power consumption for every 10,000 online transactions is expected to be limited within 2 kWh.

Alibaba now offers computing services with more than 1 million processors. It would save a great amount of resources if every single processor consumed less energy, the company said.

Its data center was in 24-hour operation at high loads during last year's Double 11, with real-time data processing at its peak of more than 1.7 billion calculations per second.

AI technology will be used in the data center, with algorithm models helping optimize the server load and achieve smarter electric and thermal control.

Double 11, also known as the Singles' Day online shopping festival, witnessed record sales of 213.5 billion yuan (about 30.5 billion U.S. dollars) last year on Alibaba's online shopping platforms including Tmall and Taobao.

I cant find my previous conversation I had with you where you explained to me that a playstore was'nt the problem but no access to GMS.
I just came across this article.

    https://www.xda-developers.com/huawei-hms-core-android-alternative-google-play-services-gms/

Seems like they are pretty close to solving their problem. Because I could be in Shenzen in a couple of week's time, I wonder whether you think it would be worthwhile picking up a Huawei phone?. The attraction of buying overseas is the ability to get a phone with two sim card slots.

Where do you live? I don't recommend buying a phone from China if you plan on using it in another country. Each country uses different sets of frequency bands, so a Chinese phone is tuned to the frequency bands operated in China while a Canadian phone would be tuned to those bands operated in Canada. My mom bought a Huawei phone in China, and it does not work properly in Canada.

If you want a Huawei phone, buy it in your home country.

Really strange. I don't think it is about the frequency. The only frequency that may miss would be LTE band 28(700) - 4G. Somehow some Chinese phone don't have that frequency. But it is not a big deal at all
