New single engine stealth fighter by chengdu?

Not that I know of.
Like I said before, I know of 5 major projects:
1) JF17 improvements - which is mostly semi retired super experienced engineers with new hires
2) J10 improvements - same as JF17 for staffing
3) J20 projects - mostly people in their prime working on this I heard, expecting the team to stay intact for a long time
4) new project that was started last year also based on J20 tech (all solid info that I have, rest is speculation), think its a transformation into something else. Like naval? Or smaller? How accurate this is, I don't know. Just heard about it offhand. I'm only guessing here, so you guys know as much as I do.
5) new brain storming project based on J20. This started a couple years ago apparently, just before J20 was finalized. This is your if money is no object kind of wishlist project. Think it is brainstorming for 6 gen.

Most of the info I got is based on conversations I have with my uncle, but its almost a guessing game with him sometimes and a lot of read between the lines. Almost what he doesn't say vs what is said.

Like I heard him say "people" are happy with J20 and want to build on it with 2 projects.

Now you guys know as much as I do.

If the J-10D was indeed based on pre-J-20 technology, and if it indeed incorporates the rumored stealthy nozzle, EOTS, EODAS, and the like, then there is a pretty significant chance it would have some form of RCS reduction (like the F-15SE). It supposedly beat out the FC-31 for the PLAAF lightweight fighter contract and has been compared to the F-35 as well.

I honestly have no idea. Your guess is as good as mine. I don't think there are enough dots to connect yet.

I wonder if they can evolve J10 into a twin engine 4++ plane for carrier ops.... But by then might as well call it something else entirely.

Or if they included everything you said for D and then navalize it for E.

Although I did hear J10 projects are wrapping up... Maybe they won't call it J10 by then... Or it was false information to begin with.....

If you happen to know, when did the J-10D project begin?

Where is the prototype?

Recall the following image from 2016?

This could potentially be a variant of the J-20 or J-10 undergoing airframe RCS verification. From the looks of it, the engine configuration seems to be a single large turbofan (or a space for it). The only thing working against that theory is that, according to Sean O'Connor (who took this image), the aircraft has the exact same dimensions as the J-20.
