JF-17/FC-1 Fighter Aircraft thread

First delay: The signature of the MoU has caused some consternation at Eurocopter as the Z-11s introduction into the South American may have broken a previously undisclosed agreement made between Eurocopter and Avicopter in early 2011 about the sale of license-built Eurocopter helicopters by Avicopter outside China.

The Z-11 is not a license-built Eurocopter aircraft but is virtually identical to the AS350 Ecureuil and Eurocopter is understood to be concerned about protection from liabilities because the designs are so similar

If the Z-11 is an illegitimate knockoff how could Eurocopter be held liable for anything? Did Eurocopter try to block the sale claiming that it is their design?

To build 150 FC-1 plus 150 F-17 Thunder to PAF in Pakistan so they have survivers changes with 300 jets in PAF. 500,000 strong Army in Pakistan Army plus Naval and PAF. Great changes for Pakistan to win a war in homeland. Over 600,000 troops in theres Professional Armed Forces. Pakistan only needed new FC-1 and the other jets in PAF to survive war stripps. India is posential enemy and Thailand and Taiwan from Asia.

Question: Not that we're supposed to be talking politics but why is Thailand a potential enemy of Pakistan? What conflicts might they have? I assume you named Taiwan (ROC) because you're thinking in case China (PRC) gets into an armed conflict with them and Pakistan wants to help? I think you're over-thinking that one. If China was at the level where it needed Pakistan to help take Taiwan, they'd wait for a much better day before doing that LOL

I believe that is indeed the case. At any rate it is delaying the project until there is a resolution. Now that the courts have it who knows how long it will take?

JF-17 Presses On After News of Egypt's Plans

ISLAMABAD — News that Egypt may acquire the UAE's Mirage fighters is likely to scupper Pakistan's hopes of selling the JF-17, especially since Cairo is also reportedly negotiating for 20 Rafale fighters, and shown interest in the MiG-35. However, brisk development of the JF-17 continues alongside sales efforts.

Kaiser Tufail, former Pakistani air commodore, said the UAE's offer of an undisclosed number of Dassault-built Mirage 2000-9s to Egypt means the JF-17 may be out of contention in Cairo.

"If [Egypt] purchases Mirage 2000-9s as well as some more of the older refurbished 2000-5s, it would certainly not need the JF-17, which is less capable than the French fighter," he said.
