New Chinese Military Developments

about 5 years ago, Chinese website reported that china is introducing 152mm armed "supertank",2 years later, JDW,also carry similiar report a 150 mm .plus supertank being developed.
But last year,during local defense exhibition in beijing,Photograph of new type-01 (?) 152/155mm self proper gun r ,the SPG is identical to the russian MTAS SPG. intend to replace the type-1984 152mm SPG.
\Report of 152mm "supertank" may turn out to be type-01 SPG.

My function is mimini-paraversion whit night-vision equip gunner.
Next year i go to Afganistan..:nono:
Last month we beated the USmarinecorps USMC in a training.

Mmm a Chineese supertank no not possible.
Its based on Russian equipment like the 2a46m 125mm tank gun.
The German/Dutch Leopard2a6 wil be better by far than the new Chineese generation of tanks whit his 120mm l55 gun.
whitch is selected for the newest US tank the M1A2.
Arogant US takes a German gun must be very good.:coffee:
The Leopard2a6 can beat targets up to 6000m.
And his Chobham armour is state of the art.
Im sure that he can take a chineese sabot ore heat tankhit.
The HV nightvison is able to see someones bloodpuls on 1km :nono: .
Its advanced integrated computersystem whit laserrangefinder an high rate of fire make it possible tot take lots of kills in one minute.
69tons make him havy but the 2000HP engine makes him fast.
Becuse its German its very good every thing thats there is very good.
The new chineese type 99 could be a relative good tank but not very good thats why i dont thing there wil be a very good Chineesetank in the coming years.

I doubt it all, especially when China had just introduced the Type 99, and is still lacking in internal protection.

Rather off topic, but when did Leopards have Chobham? thought they have their own laminated armour. And which upgrade gives the tank 69 tonnes and 2000 HP? Just news to me.

I know the Dutch Army kicks ass, and so does the Leopard 2.

But you seem quite pesimestic about the Chinese military...nothing of it seems modern nor capable in your view. Yet you cannot underestimate China. And the supertank question...maybe its not going to be effective or invincible...but it is not impossible. Otherwise, you'd call the German Elephant tank impossible...the IS series large tanks impossible...or even SP artillery with 203mm impossible...gee I though mounting a 203mm was impossible, but seems not.

So apart from its massive size...anything you would say you 'envy' the Dutch would have that the Chinese have designed?

The rumors of a new super tank have been floating for years at first it was Russian now it's Chinese pretty soon it will be Iranian. As for who has the best tank in the world today I would say the new Leo, the French Leclerc, the British challenger 2 and the M1a2 could all have bragging rights for it as there all about equal in the specs. It all depends on your budget and wants. I personally think most European tanks are under gunned, as they tend to only mount TWO MG's where the M1 mounts three. But that’s my view

To Anti-China Dutch Boy (aka, dutch infantry). Yep, your doing the same stuff as you did on the previous thread. Going all crazy about how you dutch people are better than China. Perhaps you should do a little research on the PLA. I recomend the site your at. Or maybe you have done research and you are just jealous of the PLA. Yep many people are like that. Like I said. If your anti Chinese, then scram!
Back to the tank, we all heard of such a project. Thing is, like many other projects, this one is raped up in secreacy. We dont even have a photo of such a tank. This is sorta like the WZ10 project. I found a picture of a artists impression at defence talk but I doubt thats it. you guys can check out.

Why must people must assume PLA tanks r inferior when only the protection is lacking? I think a lot of people must first think of PLA military doctrine before commenting on their hardware! PLA possesse a lot of man power,protection is not a priority as firepower and speed. Inferior protection doesn't mean inferior fire power and mobilities which makes gives u such doubt! Protection is never the top priority in PLA MBT! Don use that as a guide line to guage PLA MBT capabilites. Small countries like Israel has small population ,manpower is precious. Crew protection is priority. China is a huge country with the largest army. Firepower and first hit is PLA priority!!!
