I am building a second Type 071 model in 1/350 scale. My first, Kunlun, LPD-998, commissioned in November 2007, and can be seen here on SD, or on my own site, here:

    https://www.jeffhead.com/modelbuilds/lpd998.htm

It is also on Fine Scale Modeling.

    Here's a pic of her:

I wanted a second so I could put together a PLAN ARG when I can find a couple of the LSTs, and particularly if they build an LPD.

This one will be the 3rd actual vessel, Changbai San, 989, which was commissioned in September 2012.

    Her she is at sea:

...and here's four of pics of her current status:

I will follow with a full outline of the build when finished.

These are very capable ships and the PLAN now has six of them. I believe , from the number of the PLAN LCACs we are seeing now that they have figured out the problems they had been having with them...but I still wait to see LCACs fully loaded with vehicles and soldiers. Has anyone seen some pictures in the recent past? @asif iqbal are you aware of any such photos?

Vow! You've got a full set of modeling equipment. I just wonder if you put the model onto water, does it float?

Well, I do not normally put them in water...but yes, they would float. Most of the hulls are single pieces of plasti, and some are two, but whichare glued together with water proof plastic cement.
