I watched A Quiet Place after hearing so much about it. It was okay but it was overhyped. It doesn't really explain anything. There's murderous creatures that are blind and attracted to sound and that's it. Where did they come from? Did they take over the world? There are only three in the area and they can be killed with a shotgun but they don't use them because shotguns make a lot of noise. Big price paid for that. Hard to believe an apocalypse happen, if that's what they were suggesting by all the newspaper headlines warning everyone it's all being about sound, with these monsters that can't see or smell and only react to sound.

I believe there is enough interest to make a sequel.
The part I don't get or I missed it.Why was their a nail driven through the step for someone like the mother to stand on.

Has any one seen the Han Solo movie?

If you overthink it, there'd be no movie. The movie is sold on the "no talking" gimmick, which, coupled with the fact that it is John Krasinski's directorial debut, made it overhyped.

I'm not suggesting something like "if" they had a phaser, these creatures would've been taken care. I'm talking the logic of the laws they created in making this world and how it operates. I can go further into detail but that would giveaway the ending because it makes you wonder why they didn't do essentially that before? They say the movie is about family. I'll agree but a lot of their grief would've never had happened if they were smart. Yes there would be no movie if they were smart. That's were the storytellers have to fill the holes to make it smart. These creatures I wonder how they could've bested humanity to be at the top of the food chain. They couldn't see, they couldn't smell. All they had was supersensitive hearing. Bats are blind and have sensitive hearing but they also have sonar. These creatures did not have sonar. One of the children spent the night outside all by herself in the middle of no where knowing she was safe just as long she didn't make any noise. When they did make a noise (accidentally) and the creature from afar heard it, all the family had to do was wait and keep quiet long enough for the creature to arrive threading the needing around them looking for the source of the noise to then give up and leave. The "eureka" moment in the end only served to conclude the movie. Sure it helped but they didn't need it if they were smart. I just wrote basically how the creature operates. If you can think up from that information alone on how to handle them, you're most likely right without having to watch the movie.

Just watched this documentary and had to share here. Solid documentary regarding the Chinese Exclusion Act in the USA which involves civil rights, immigration, racism, economic and foreign policies, in general as well as in particular for Chinese Americans. A saga with many learning opportunities still applicable today.

Watch the entire documentary on PBS, The Chinese Exclusion Act:

Kyle Mizokami should do his homework. The Top Gun sequel is going to be about drones and that's coming from the filmmakers themselves. Since there aren't any A2A UCAVS out there in real life, they most likely will be made-up just like the enemy aircraft in the original movie was made up.
