Have you watched the movie? I think it's quite an interesting one. I saw some Hollywood stars in it.

Your personal preference is your God given right, but Hollywood is mainly a profit-driven entertainment and merchandising oligarchy, catering to people who are willing to pay. As societal and cultural tastes change, so will entertainment and entertainers. They should stick to that and leave the PC garbage to others.
The movie was a bit of a flop in the Western markets.I guess that was likely to happen when one tries to cater to two distinct cultural groups.

Or, maybe it's just a bad movie, regardless of casting. One shouldn't underestimate movie studios' ability to make terrible films with good actors/actresses.

I liked the movie, Oh I just came from it I would have watched it last weekend but a Coworker of mine keeps calling out meaning I have to cover their shift... I do again today but I said Screw it and went anyways.
The movie was fun not great, they blended a bunch of different plotlines together to try and make a more action flick. And Yes they did use the White Washing as a plot device. Which is kinda what I figured they would do, as the "Major" in the original material is a full body Cyborg and basically the body she wears is tactical eye candy. The face and body she uses is uber idealized with a Barbie doll figure and face.
Don't bring the young kids this is more of a young adult film.
I also saw Your Name, a nice little scifi fantasy about a boy in tokyo and a Girl in the mountains of Japan who start switching lives off and on. leading to a major event. It's has some suggestive moments but nothing overtly violent or sexual. Safe for older kids. It was a great film. note subtitled although dubbed is available. Beautiful animation.
