I wonder if they have to pay anywhere as much to a deceased actor/actress estate for the continued use of their image in their respective roles to had they been alive and actually playing the character.

Peter Cushing when he died had no legal heirs. He left his entire estate to his secretary. She owns Peter Cushing's image and was at the Rogue One premiere. I don't think they make the same money from if they were alive because most of the work goes to a lot of other people behind the scenes. I guess it would depend on who and they might make more than a lesser alive actor would but I doubt the same as when they were alive.

Oh I See.......

I Believe Alec Guinness needed a fair amount of persuasion to do a cameo role in the 5th episode and he was paid oodles for it. If C G had been around then, they could have CGed them as they could with any actor/ or actress who became too much of a prima donna, but their image in the sequel was deemed important, even if it was just a brief appearance.

By the way Mace, Ive been meaning to ask you when you mentioned you went to film school.
Do you learn everything about film making, or areas that you are interested in?

Yes you can learn everything in film school if you want to learn it. Some classes though are reserved for those majoring in those fields. The creative end is really up to you. If one is looking to make movies for Hollywood then it's better to learn how they want them like the three-act structure. The students in my school were more independent filmmakers so they don't care about structure or format. When it comes to screenwriting, maybe USC or UCLA do better in that department. I actually learned more about screenwriting from taking one of those one or two day extended learning classes than what my school was offering in their regular curriculum. You usually get a person who actually worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood but then these days most of those classes are offered on the internet. Outside of Los Angeles, I'm not sure they do those classes anymore.

I know a guy that never went to film school and he makes movies with an actual crew that knows their stuff. We go on location and people walking by think there's an actual Hollywood movie being filmed because you have all the equipment for everyone to see. But the guy doesn't know anything about story structure. He's an example of how you can get a movie filmed if you have professional crew because they're getting paid. No one is going to buy his movie because there's no story structure. I even tried telling him what he needed but he's one of those people that wants Hollywood to hand him money but refusing to do movies their way. Just shows you anyone with money they're willing to spend can make a movie. Aside from the technical aspect, you don't really need to go to film school.

I saw a downloaded version of the Great wall.Although it was in Chinese which I dont understand, I could follow it easily enough after reading a review. There were bursts of laughter from the audience from time to time which was beyond my comprehension.
All in all its just another popcorn movie, a little disjointed at places and overall, slightly disappointinting, therefore its not a movie I would go out of my way towatch in the theatre.

For those who like Jackie Chan's movie, here might be what you're expecting.
It looks like a fun movie to watch, sadly I will have to wait for the blue ray or dvd to come out. Ya know how much obstacles the US film market placed on foreign films, so sad. As a result millions of Jackie Chan fans out there have to resolve to waiting for the DVD version to come out.

The second trailer of Logan just came out. All I can say is "Wow!" X-23 is incredible. I have no issue if they decide that she should take over as Wolverine. She is more bada$$ than Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
