Rotten-tomatoes is giving some weird ratings. X-Men Apocalypse got only 47%? Yes it was not upto "First Class" or "Day of future past" but it was a very enjoyable movie. I expected a a fresh rating of 60% or more at least.

Some of the Youtube reviewers Jeremy Jahns, Chris Stuckmann etc said they totally disagreed with the RT rating for X-Men Apocalypse. Not only that but several reasonable/watchable movies have got absurdly bad ratings like 11% or 16% and so on...

Good to see another Stuckmann fan on SDF!

Keep in mind that Rotten Tomatoes freshness meter is just an aggregate of critics' "recommendation" of a particular film. A critic can, in fact, consider a film to be middling and still not recommend the film. The actual rating under the freshness meter is actually a much better gauge of how good the film is.

Technically not a movie but a musical about Korean comfort women, still great to see Asian Americans pursue their own projects in the performing arts, learning about their heritage, and sharing the universal messages from it.

I went and saw the new Independence Day movie. My recommendation is not to bother.Terrible scripting and acting made it difficult to enjoy the movie. The Chinese were represented by a commander of the moon base, which appeared to be the first line of defence against any alien invader, and his niece whose role was that of a fighter jock. She was'nt convincing at all, and would have looked more at home on a fashion catwalk.

Guess they had a legit reason to enforce the review embargo.

Than I will marry his niece after we beat off the alien invasion.:D

I'm starting to like this Hollywood accommodating for the Chinese audience as China will become the biggest movie market. But it's still has ways to go in portraying Asian men in leading roles. Lets see how Donnie Yen will do as a kung fu jedi knight or something like that in upcoming "Rogue One" movie.

Anyone watching the new season of The Last Ship? When will the US give up its return to Vietnam so they can win fantasy? This time everyone in Asia is up to no good except the Asian women who are whores servicing Western mercenary men and the ones that side with the US. Oh yeah also all of Asia even Japan is mostly straw huts and unpaved roads. And every city is basically a dive bar filled with prostitutes. It all starts because the US thinks China is hoarding the vaccine to the virus that the US shipped to them to give out to Asia and now the virus is mutating bringing Asia to the brink of war. And also the bad guys are holding some of the crew hostage and they're dressed up in pajamas like it was a Chuck Norris movie saving Americans missing in action. Also there's kung fu battles on the streets.

Here's a rumor I started reading last week and now there's more reporting on it. Since X-Men Apocalypse still made money but less than expected, rumors are Fox and Marvel have secretly been meeting akin to the situation with Sony and Marvel over Spider-Man. Probably not going to see Wolverine as apart of the Avengers until the next decade though.

That's the thing though. I don't want every Marvel property to be Avengers affiliated. Can't we just weld the existing X-Men canon into the MCU through Scarlet Witch magic or the Infinity Gauntlet and keep them as an independent team?
