Heya everyone.

Yeah, I’m new here. And I suppose it would be rather rude to just announce an idea and not join into in any discussions. But since I’m more than likely going to spend a lot of time here, I guess I’ll post up a little idea.

I’ve seen a ‘game’ thread in this forum. I believe it was a scenario where Taiwan fought China. I too am into these kinds of games. In fact, I’ve started one with some other guy which died a few days ago.

Basically it is a turn-based role-play scenario based on a premises of a third world war. I figured as a side project, I can host a role-play game linked to this forum. But instead of appealing to everyone like my old project, it’ll be more focused on the PLA. Or I can fire up the old project. If anyone’s up for it, tell me.

I would do it, but the last time we tried it pretty much everyone was calling in air strikes on everyone else and the Finnish Army was assaulting the Phillipines. So if you were going to do it you would have to have a definate mod-enforced list of players, rules, and an through list of weapons and orders of battle for all sides.

Would it be a Taiwan Invasion? Because that I think is a banned subject.

Actually, if we were supposed to get a few members together; the role-play will be more infantry based. In fact, it’ll be more like a RPG. The game will also be infantry based, thus making the game balance; players will only be able to acquire new weapons and materials after defeating an enemy. Thus the more one plays, the more one gains. And to spice things up, they’ll be bonuses (Tanks, etc etc) to purchase. (Credit will be gained by doing missions.) I’m also versatile with the idea, if it need be; one can make the game on a more grander level- i.e. playing the simulation through the eyes of the commander. Rules will be complicated in such a manner to keep out the newbie factor.

Scenario ideas can be pretty creative; it can be anything from a second Korean War, to a second Japanese Invasion.

What I’m planning to do if we have enough people:
-Descriptive Briefings: Photoshopped CNN Website to show enemy progress/ People’s Daily to show PLA progress.
-Turn based strategy; the ability to capture enemy personnel/ ransom hostages/ limited nuclear power.
-Center the simulation around a story, and a game mod that will make sure that everything is fair and balanced.

So yeah. ^_^ If people are up, we can either host this here or on a MSN Community page.
