Haven't posted for quite a long time. Today, I suddenly want to compare how powerful an H-6 engine to a Su-27's, and I found that a large aircraf such as the H-6 is less powerful than even the Su-27. Beside that, I also found this:

Runway (landing) 1,655km/h (H-6A); 1,540km/h (H-6D)

On the HQ-12 (KS-1) page... 2nd paragraph from the bottom...

"The radio-command KS-1 was designed primarily to engage aircraft and helicopters, but also ahs limited capability against air-to-surface missiles and other air-launched precision guidance weapons."

The PHL03 fires 200mm (300mm?) rocket powered by a solid propellant (possibly HTTB) rocket motor.

The PLA ahs (has) been testing the KS-1 since the mid-1990s.

The radio-command KS-1 was designed primarily to engage aircraft and helicopters, but also ahs (has) limited capability against air-to-surface missiles and other air-launched precision guidance weapons.

Also a brief question about HQ-12/KS-1A:

Dongfeng has grouped the SAM under ´point defence´; though HQ-12 has a slant range of at least 50 km.

Obviously HQ-12 falls in between S-300/HQ-9 and point defence systems like Tor so a separate category should be considered. (...perhaps something like ´semi-regional´.)

Guys,

thank everyone who have pointed out the errors. I've corrected them.

To Violet: I have moved HQ-12 to regional air defence system, and change the title of the middle section to "Field Air Defence". The idea is that all systems under the "Regional Air Defence" section are deployed by the PLA Air Force, while all systems under the "Field Air Defence" section are deployed by the ground forces. What do you think

Thanks
Dongfeng

, I'm pretty sure the guy is wearing Woodland camouflage and not Urban camouflage as discription suggests. The same uniform can be found in the 2007 Peace Mission exercise picture

. Also, the uniform is very similar to the Woodland patter seen in this picture
