T-50 MAKS 2015 rehearsal flight

Back to bottling my Grenache

This is a great video that shows the T-50 and OVT off to advantage, there are a great many big lazy maneuvers at low airspeed, even post stall that would be impossible without OVT. It really doesn't "seem" that they pilot is "beating on" the T-50, with the reckless abandon that I have seen them pound on the Su-30??? but it is difficult to know without being in the cockpit and watching the gauges, I would say the F-22 is the more robust of the two airframes, but there again, it is a more of a nuanced feeling?

and, looks like shes going to move to center stage once again, so who thinks she might operate off a carrier????? and the nose gear just needs a drawbar and a little tweaking?? yea haa!

Ok, now that Mig 1.44 is to be updated and marketed as a middleweight, I am challenging you our CG experts to help them out a little, a Navalized version with a beefed up nose gear and drawbar and a hook are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing, post them on the aerodynamics thread and we will "help u" refine your aerodynamic wonders, only rule is that she must retain aft mounted delta and canard in the same general planform? everything else is fair game, let the fun begin.

I do not think it will ever happen.

IMHO, more Russian "talk." I will believe that they will do anything with it when I actually see a new one roll off the assembly line.

As to a navalized version...I do not think that is going to happen even if they built a new aircraft (which, as I say is very doubtful). Just not enough volume for Russia in any case. they have a single carrier...and they are building new Mig-29Ks for her.

Jest a little brain teaser till the Chinese fly 2016, or the Russians Fly T- 50-2, 650., of course I don't think they will either? but, the Russians are big flirts with their intellectual property, war machines, Anna Chapman?, etc, and they are hoping that Sukhoi has kind of missed the boat so to speak with the T-50? The T-Bird is kinda in a bad place right now?

You and I remember a time when Mikoyan wore that big RED STAR!
so lets post those CGs on the aerodynamics thread gents??

I guess Russia would like to continue their Flanker / Fulcrum force mix in the future. That means a MiG-29/-35 follow on type eventually.
Now I also do not see the capacity for a concurent 5th gen program in the current russian budget / industry environment. But after the the T-50 program goes from development to batch production, in several years of course, there might be place for another program. Although, at that time Russia will have to make due with it's announced Tu-160+ / PAK-DA plans. So they may have their hands full again.

Anyhow, the idea of making the 1.44 into a medium class design isn't completely new, is it? There was the MiG LFMA (?) concept, that is somehow similar to what the indian AMCA is supposed to be.
