This is where the "Pacific Pivot" paid off, those two Arleigh Burkes sitting off the East coats of Korea were cleared to engage any missile that was to be fired, 3 South Korean DDG where doing the detection and tracking

Today out of the 283 ships listed in USN 101 are deployed of which 52 are in the Pacific (42 deploy permanently) and by 2020 they will reach 62 ships

China is on the rise and can easily in the future have a vast Pacific fleet, keeping a balance in the region for peace and security

So long as it's in their interest And the Nations of Asia all go along with Beijing? Sorry but Even China Is just one player in what will likely be a very player filled world.

Since Korea is inextricably linked with Taiwan, China would lose tremendous face if Korean unification was dictated on American terms, as you have another situation like British victory over the Falkland islands, with Margaret Thatcher riding on the high of British victory snidingly touted perhaps the British can keep Hong Kong island from China. The same would be for the Americans, as the U.S. navy would redouble their protection of Taiwan island from China if post-unified Korea is within America's political orbit.

Taiwan can't declare independence otherwise China invades, US will not allow Taiwan to declare independence anyway

Taiwan should concentrate on its economy and move away from this kind of thinking, in the future they should integrate into China, how many country's even support Taiwan independence
