I was in Hangzhou in southern China a couple of weeks back, and there were a lot of highly intensive sorties being flown by JH7s while I was there.

China is keeping quiet on the boarders, but from what I have seen, the PLAAF is drilling hard in Chinese hinterland areas, far away from trouble spots as to escape notice of most foreign media.

Those JH7 are like that since ten years or maybe twenty years ago so take easy. Also hangzhou is not hinterland. It's the frontline against Japanese and potential US adversary.

Hi Deino and what's the reason behind terminating B series
Due to j16 or some other reasons
Thx

I don't know for sure, but my feeling tells me yes. Even if avionics-vise the A-model is still fine and a B-model would surely be a nice upgrade, the J-16 is alone structurally a different league.

IMO it was simply a decision based on future options.

Hi,

Sometimes we get caught in---bring everything new---otherwise we are in deep sh-it---we put too much emphasis on " Newer is better "---and that is where the JH7A got caught---.

When 55 years old B52--- 40 + years old F15 and F16 are good for another 30 years after being refurbished---there was no reason to cut down the JH7A---.

A refurbished JH7A could have done an excellent job for another 20 + years---.
