Again, I feel obliged to add that this kind of exercise probably isn't new...

What is a little bit new or at least interesting, is the KG600 ECM pod on the port second most outer pylon, which appears to have proliferated widely among many JH-7/A units now and is increasingly part of their standard self defense loadout.

Anyone with an idea what kind of store this JH-7A is carrying under its centreline station ?? It does not look like the tank or an ASM nor AShM ... more like a pod ??

Way too big to be a smoke pod, those are usually AAM sized.

Image is too blurry to see well, but does fit the general outline of a stealthy stand off weapons dispenser or cruise missile.

Could also be an anti-runway clusterbomb dispenser.
