Its being discussed earlier also, F7PGs (60) & Rose II/III Mirages (80 Aircraft - Cruise Missile capable) will not be retired in any near future...in stead they will move to as a dedicated PN air arm (under PAF??).

...

Could you please stick to the topic?? This one is for the JF-17 and not on the general Orbat of the PAF ...

Apparently this unit is going to be used for flypast in March

Seems doubtful since there is still a lot of work to get that unit ready to fly

Unless the fuselage is all wired and ready to go

JF17B flanked by 2 x JF17 with IFR would be a good parade

Still 7 x Mirage squadrons and 5 x F7 squadrons need to be replaced

That’s well over 200 aircraft, if PAC build 16-18 units of Block II in 2018 we still will require another 200 aircraft

If we build 50 x Block III that is still a gap of 150 aircraft by 2021

I seriously hope a Block 4 is in development and 1-2 squadrons of F.C.-31 is purchased

Hopefully all Mirage and F7 are phased out in 10 years

40+ days should be enough time to assemble and test JF-17, especially if its assembly & testing is prioritized.

About C-17 from UAE - according to discussion at PDF, these aircraft have been used to ferry stuff for Pakistan. A year (or so) ago UAE's C-17 reportedly supplied some critical air-defense equipment. If this particular aircraft were to be used for ferrying JF-17 fuselage, I would not be surprise.

In next few years PN air arm going to be very capable & skies of Pakistan's SLoC will be well covered with the following;

3Sqdns - F7PGs
4Sqdns - Rose II/III Mirage (Cruise Missile capable)
2Sqdns - JF17Bs (BLK/III - (Cruise Missile capable)
ZDKs (4 AEW Aircraft)
P3Cs (12 MPA Aircraft)
ATRs (02 MPA Aircraft)

OTH, PAF will also be equipped with 4 generation aircraft in next few years;

14Sqdns - JF17s (BLK I/II/III)
05Sqdns - F16s (BLK 40/50MLU & 52)
05Sqdns - J10s (C/D??)
02Sqdns - FC31s (???)
KJ500 (08 AWACS Aircrafts)
Erieye (06 AWACS Aircrats)

Following points in the above post dont seem right:

According to post that shows 26 Squadron of PAF , that's no where in the plans or the requirement of PAF. We have 19 plus add one more 28th JF-17 sqd

We have 4 F-16 Squadrons not 5 ,namely squad 5,9,11 and 19th squadron
Regarding the Naval Arm, How are we planning to use F-7PG in naval combat. The AC is not all designed for Naval combat so I doubt that's gonna happen
There are three Mirage ROSE squadron and not 4 namely 7,25 and 27th squadron

More Practical Option looks

4 F-16 Squadrons 5th,9th,11 and 19th
5 JF-17 Squadron 2nd,14th,16th,26th,28th
3 Mirage ROSE Squadron 7th,25th and 27th
4 F-7PG Squadron 17th,20th,23th and the Mianwali unnamed squadron

8th,15th 22nd Non Upgraded Mirages and 18th F-7P squadron will be replaced with JF-17
As posted earlier depending if IAF gets PAKFA then 2 sqd of FC-31 will be bought which might replace F-7PG or Mirage ROSE

We all should be back to the main Topic in order not to further drag this thread....but prior to that let me clear your points .... I mentioned that said scenario will be in next few years to come...kindly note below the possibilities....

According to post that shows 26 Squadron of PAF , that's no where in the plans or the requirement of PAF. We have 19 plus add one more 28th JF-17 sqd

Let me correct you.... PAF still have to include 100 more JF17s (BLK - III)... so it will be 6 more Sqd to complement already 5 (11 sqds) & if PAF goes for another 50 JF17s (BLK - IV) means 3 more sdqs..... all in total 14Sqds...

We have 4 F-16 Squadrons not 5 ,namely squad 5,9,11 and 19th squadron

Yup but PAF have 15 MLU kits in the kitty & they are pursing additional used F16s from the market....so it will be 5 Sqds...

Regarding the Naval Arm, How are we planning to use F-7PG in naval combat. The AC is not all designed for Naval combat so I doubt that's gonna happen

F7PGs will be used for policing role in the coastal areas only ... which will release PAF assets ....

There are three Mirage ROSE squadron and not 4 namely 7,25 and 27th squadron

There are 3 Sqds of ROSE III & 1 Sqd of ROSE II....& will be used as aggressors along with JF17Bs....

I hope now above is clear...

Nope
Mirage ROSE I is 7th Squadron ( Bandits)
Mirage ROSE II is 25 th Squadron (Night Strike Eagles)
Miarge ROSE III is 27th Squadron.(Zarrars)
Please talk to Air Force Officer who will reconfirm this

There is no mention of Block 4 anywhere , So 14 squadron is just an assumption
The 100 Block III squadron should be able to replace 8th,15th,18th and 22nd squadron.

PAF Has had 19-20 squadrons for the past 3 decades and it hardly makes any sense that PAF is planning to increase the number to 26 sqd . That's a 33% increase in inventory which is sudden departure from established SOP. If there is block 4 then it will replace F-7PG or ROSE Mirages

F-7PG as naval air arm asset is highly unlikely given its short legs and limited CAP time

Guys this is not PAF orbat ???
I agree, I apologize , Ill drop the discussion from now.

Thanks a lot guys and your last posts are a prime example why I like SDF so much. It is always (ok. at least most often) a kind and friendly conversation with deep respect and understanding.

Not many forum are that civilised and I think we all can be proud of.

Best,
Deino
